Global GT Challenge Proxy - Official Results
12th-Aug-25, 04:05 PM
Hi Graham, I have to say I am more than a little confused by both the results and comments made re my entries. The Porsche Kremer came 7th with the comment ‘smooth and fast’ while the comment re the Lamborghini’s performance which incidentally was 10th is ‘lack of rear end bits’ - what? I assume the video clips will help re the odd comments and results?
Andy.

There was no videos recorded for this round, only 2 guys running it in a fairly small space.
However I am told that the "lack of rear bits" comment, was an observation that the rear of the Lambo was missing the rear end grill (which we know anyway) and was not related to track performance.
The Kremer was "fast" in fact it recorded the 2nd fastest lap of the Group, but like the fastest lap car (Bangers Racing Ferrari F355) did not complete the 25 laps in the best time. So there must have been some consistency issues or deslots during the race.
I have seen that the Lambo did not run that fast on this track, recording the 9th fastest lap of the group.

A very big thank you to Mark & Paul who ran the Final Round for us, it must have been sweltering heat in the garage on Sunday.
It was an "interesting" round, and some placings were very unexpected whilst others were more or less to form.
Certainly I would not have expected the Revoslot Viper of Brumos to have been 5th, or conversely ALS Toyota Supra 1st !
But of course the timing margins are, very very close in this proxy, so track conditions can play a very significant role.

Whilst the final Round at Lumb Valley gave us some different Podium winnersand some "scraching of the head" it did not change "most" of the overall outcomes of the proxy.
Well certainly a proxy of two halves, Graham. I think I need to stick to building pro-cars. My standard Fly Marcos, came last overall. (Only mods being a chnge of tyres and a bit of ballast.) Pity there were no other GT2's in the "Modified Standard" class, so raced against the GT1's.
Can't complain, my Proslot Ferrari 355, with Mini Racing Studios chassis, and Scaleauto BMW Z4, brought home the goods.

Looking forward to the Targa Florio!

You were certainly very lucky with the Ferrari

The BMW Z4 was more consistent than Demon Tweeks Lambo, but on a wood track would have probably stayed ahead of your car.
The front engine Marcos was one of those experiments that was doomed to failure. Would only be competitive with similar constructed cars.

How can that be right then? Deciding a winner from a set of questionable results leavers a bad taste.
