Audi R8 GT3 Scaleauto White Kit- Rossi build
#11

Thanks Ken and Anthony.

A little more progress, tonight I decaled the dash and little switch console next to the dash in carbon fibre.
Painted the fire extinguisher and brake callipers,  bit annoyed with myself on the fire extinguisher. I couldn't be bothered getting my magnified glasses out my work van and the silver lines are a bit wobbly. You won't see it but if I can't stop thinking about it I'll redo it. Rofl
I've finished painting and panel lined the motor.

I decided to try and add the mesh for the intake vents in front of the rear tyres, drew the shape with some masking tape then laid it on to the carburettor mesh I have for my real motor bike. Glued it to the panel then glued that to the car.
Quite happy how they turned out.

Here's a cool shot of the back, it's such a cool shaped rear end.
I don't normally go for modern cars but this is pretty nice.

I've just had to come in as my feet started freezing, I think next will be masking and spraying the white and yellow sections to the body.
I think that will be a few hours masking as there's some small lines.
Really enjoying this, I think it's going to be a nice car.
Cheers for looking.

Small progress as it's been too cold in the shed to do the masking of the main body.
I added some little switches to the homemade dash consul, sprayed the fluro yellow and then glued some little ali tube I cut as switches.
Glued the extinguisher in place.

All that's left in the cockpit is finish painting the driver and make the drivers safety nets.
I got the disk brakes and callipers glued in, details like this really make a difference I think.
The more I do this the more I want to get the details right, god help me I'm not a rivet counter just love the process of finding a way to make it look as good as I can Rofl

A bit of a paint update.
This was a marathon to mask but I got there in the end.

I sprayed white and then the Rossi yellow, then clear coated it before removing the masking to reveal the mat black.

The driver is all painted with decals.

Decals next.
Cheers for looking.

Bet you were holding your breath when you took all the masking tape off.

That's certainly the most complicated making job I've ever seen.

Nice project. I’d planned something similar for the SCX body but since Slotit have announced they will actually model the EvoII I’m tempted just to wait for it.

Yip, I was waiting to see a bit of a mess mate  Rofl there was a couple small areas which I've touched up the white bleeding, which I did think would be worse. Pleasantly surprised.
I've got his new M4 BMW from TA71 Model Factory for my birthday at the end of the month, the new scheme on this is similar, I don't think it has mat finish so that will help. Thumbup

Cheers, its getting there.
I see they are releasing this livery which is good.

I'm more into the building part of the hobby rather than buying factory made, the hands on is the fun bit for me. Thumbup
