Global GT Challenge Proxy - Official Results

Round 3 Car inspections
Mark has reported that there is some further car damage on arrival.
Mostly opening of old wounds:
Demon Tweeks / Porsche Kremer -rear wing
BatManx/ Jaguar XJR9 -rear wing
RoadRunners / Lister Storm - rear wing

And new issues:
Makem / Ferrari 333SP - Rear diffuser
Paint Horse One / Dodge Viper - mirror & rear wing

As I know that only the BatManx Jaguar XJR9 had sustained the rear wing loss during the previous round, sadly the other casualties has occurred during the recent prolonged movement of the cars.

Global GT Challenge Review Round 3
General
Another great round executed by the Trelawney Slot Car Club in the far South West of England. A higher number of damaged rear wing type parts gave us cause for concern, and there was simply not sufficient time to repair them before the round was run anyway. When returned to me this week I will take a look to see if it is practical to repair or just put the parts aside and I will correspond to the relevant entrant in this regard. I can't help but think this was in the main generated  by DHL inter host handling issue last week where the box was sent to "god knows where and back" over a 6 day journey.

Thanks to the guys at the Trelawney Slot Car Club for hosting this round  Thumbup Thumbup

As you say Graham, the Revos performances are very tightly grouped as you'd expect from a selection of cars basically the same and is testament to the cars Revoslot make for us who have bought one (or a few).

A few head scratching results there and will probably be a feature of this proxy right to the end.

Yes I had a pre-conceived idea that probably the Revoslots would shake out into the 3 distinct Class groupings with probably the Ferrari 333SP & Toyota GT-ONE cars being the faster ones and the GT2 perhaps the slower cars and the GT1 cars inbetween. But that certainly does not appear to be the case so far, so with the additional earlier period Sports Cars appearing this year it makes me think that we could easily have a inclusive expanded Revoslot GT Standard car Event in the future ? They are really good value for money as they give you a competitive standard car without having to replace various sub-standard parts which you get on a Scalextric or other similar type slot cars.

Revos are probably the only non mag 1/32 you can 'race' and be competitive straight out of the box from new.

And I guess MR Slotman hopefully will be offering much the same kind of classic series, perhaps another standard group to be run  Sun
