Thanks for your reply. The "project " cars were a lighter shade than the DB4 Zagatos, of that I am sure!
Back in the day paint was not coded as it is now. So a mix of what they had, to varying degrees, was probably about as scientific as it got. Will check out the attachment, thank you for that.
Will probably end up walking around Halfords & Hobbycraft with a book, just sort of going for the best educated guess
