I'm sure everyone at one time has either bought a badly painted car, or had a bad paint day.
I usually use Super Clean degreaser as my regular "go to" for paint removal.
I bought a pre-painted 1/25 static body at a flea market for $5 as a quick slot car test. Once it passed the test, the paint wore me down to the point that I had to change it.
I sometimes soak the body in Super Clean for up to 3-days. This Impala was soaking for over 2-weeks and it barely made a dent in the paint.
The clean hood pictured above was the first test with Easy-Off over cleaner. So I sprayed the entire body with Easy-Off and set it in a dollar store tupperware container over night. I was nicely surpised at how well it worked. The only small areas that didn't come off were hiding under spots of glue. It even cleaned off the overspray inside the body.
I would not recommend using it on windows or chrome parts.
It's now ready for prep and re-paint.
Thanks,
Ken
