I was going to suggest Parcel Force...like you've said before not the cheapest but they get your parcel there and have a good reputation for reliability which is the most important thing of 

With ParcelForce you are again relying on them to send a van to collect, at least with Royal Mail they should collect and deliver when they make the usual Mail drop……perhaps ?
Bye the way DPD have been just now on time to collect the box of cars, and I have paid extra for mid day 12.00 noon delivery tomorrow…..so we will see if that’s worth it.
