Just out of interest, the other guide I have came in a pack and they all have the little spring, I think they are Ninco. What is the purpose of the spring?

Hi Tony, Without a pic. I can't confirm that your guides (with springs) are Ninco,...but, they very well may be as Nico did make some spring guides.

The springs allow a bit of suspension to the guide with the intent of "softening" the bumps found at the joints of most plastic track. If the guide height is set correctly, there is no need for the springs, and, you will rarely find any club racers using them.....into the bin they go !!

Just found the box, they are Ninco.
I might convert them to screw ones
