I’m in with a Corvette, potentially 2 others

Hi Brumos, basically the motors have to be ones which are “currently” commercially available and are on my motor list, so that I have measured them and more importantly other entrants have the same ones available to use if they wish.

Understood, so car #2 is a Porsche 904

Looks familiar, I think we ran it previously. Interesting choice as a Group 3 car, I would put a sprung guide in it.

A question from Facebook
"a couple of nerdy questions regarding eligible cars. The Ferrari 250GTO is not listed, but both body types (i.e. 1962/64) raced at the Targa in the GT class. The 250LM is listed as a a sports GT but was famously rejected as a production car by the FIA and ran as a prototype? "

And my answer
"I love Nerdy questions. The Ferrari 250GTO is an error, I thought I had listed it. Regarding the 250LM, I am quite happy for you to enter it as a Group 3 car. Unlike the FIA, I am open to bribery, the "Groups & Classes" are meant to put similar "Slot Cars" into competitive groupings. So I am happy to accommodate personal requests for entry cars as long as they fit into the constructional restrictions in the Groups."

I had a similar question by email regarding a Porsche 906 to be entered as a Group 2 Class C car based on a PP chassis. On the basis of it being in the "Spirit of the technical regulations" I have accepted the request.

Both the Ferrari 250 GTO, and 250 GTO LM raced in the Targa Florio in '64.

Targapedia has lots of photos.

Thanks for the confirmation Graham, can we also include the Ferrari 250P which raced in the 1963 Targa?

Yes I am happy to include any car which entered in the actual “Targa Florio” road race.
The car list will be updated on the 1st April with any entries requested, after which the "Eligible car list will be frozen"

As in the website below

http://www.targapedia.com/

Thanks Ken  Thumbup
I have included this reference link to the leading page

If anyone is interested, I spent a few hours putting a list together of cars that had actually raced in the Targa Florio from 1951-72.

The list is only those that raced and doesn't include cars on the entry list but failed to turn up and also doesn't include those that only tested but didn't actually race (Mclaren Elva for instance).

I created this list for our club Targa Florio events which only allows cars that have actually raced in it.

The list is in this post -> https://slotracer.online/community/showt...8#pid35048

The "Targa Florio" Road Race started more than 100 years ago.

This is a very good facebook page to look at
