Hello Graham thank you let me know the price of the pinion . Well this is my worst proxy far as car repairs.

I have the pinion now, sadly too late for Sundays Round, but it will be fit before the following one.

Wavegreen Good Morning,
Well the very long Ninco track with a mixture of slow sharp corners and long straights at the Wye Valley Club always gives us some different results, so it would be expected that this might upset the order again. Perhaps more of an endurance track than the others.

Round 4 Fastest Laps

Championship Review (1-4)
Kinara Trophy
1st Place - ModSports Corvette Stingray (66pts)
2nd Place - Brumos RSR Porsche 904 (61pts)
3rd Place - RoadRunners  Ferrari 250 GTO (57pts)
Round 4 has definitely stirred the pot with the top 3 cars closing up on each other.

Gerry Marshall Touring Cars
1st Place - LeManx Jaguar XJ12C (80pts)
2nd Place - Brumos RSR Camaro (46pts)
3rd Place - BatManx Camaro Z28 (37pts)
There is no stopping the run that the LeManx Jaguar has on the others, seems at home on any of the tracks. I believe the Camaro of Brumos had a better run then on previous rounds. ALS Camaro had the best round to date, its a shame that the rear tyre took such a battering due to the "wondering rear axle" but hopefully it is fixed now.
Not a good round for Bangers Racing Rover SD1 which undertook a rebuild between the previous round and this one.

Whitsun Trophy
1st Place - RoadRunners Ferrari 330 Spyder (75pts)
2nd Place - ModSports Ford GT MKIV (51pts)
3rd Place - LeManx Ford GT40 (45pts)
Another strong run for the RoadRunners Ferrari 330 Spyder. Sam D Chaparral 2E came alive on the home based track. Bangers racing Ford P68 struggled to keep up with the pace. Overall looking good for the RoadRunners at the moment, ModSports & LeManx fighting for 2nd & 3rd.
I will look to replace the plastic pinion before the next round for ALS Thunderslot Mclaren which I believe is slipping.

Next stop will be the North Staffs Slot Racing Club on the 12th November for Round 5

The cars are back with me, so I have taken the time to check a couple of the cars today. Probably the rest over the next week or so.
In particular I ran the ALS Thunderslot Mclaren on my home track, the time was consistent, so moving the pinion along the armature seemed to have worked, but replaced it with the spare I ordered anyway. It fit much more tightly onto the armature so should be good for the rest of the series. The lap time was exactly the same as with the original fitted pinion, so sadly no big improvement in performance. However when I measure the original fitted pinion against the new spare it was 0.1mm bigger in diameter and 1mm shorter ? So I don't feel that the one fitted was actually a standard part although they are both 11 teeth.
I also tested my own Club set up Thunderslot Mclaren M6A which ran a 7.4 sec lap compared to ALS similar car of 7.8 sec, so there appears to be a significant difference in performance regardless of the pinion issue.

However ALS Camaro is still looking good, the new grub screw in the rear axle seems to be holding firm.

I will look over the rest of the cars before we run again on the 12th November.
