Touring Cars Slotting - Official Results & Reports

(30th-Oct-23, 03:03 PM)Kevan Wrote:  My vote is in  Thumbup

I'd like to see future 'spirit of the proxy' nominees to include the car as a whole not just limited to the paint job to recognise the amount of work that must have gone into the build as a whole.

It is kinda meant to be the car as a whole and how it is presented throughout the series, the self decoration is a minimum requirement. However we could do underside photos to go with the topside photos, but generally speaking things like brass chassis is probably only meaningful to a few entrants and not the wider audience, whereas the visual appearance of the body is an obvious way to judge the cars attractiveness and amount of effort put in.

The cars have been given a quick check over ahead of tomorrow nights round at Viking. Few minor issues:

Event 1:

Groundhogs Cortina - Front tyre fouls body at certain positions (assumed as built?).

Savage GT - Tape that was covering screws has peeled and is fouling track - Worn tape has been trimmed back.

Event 2:

BARacer's Capri - Had two loose screws (not engaged with post at all). - Screws were replaced and tightened to match float on opposite site as no specs were available.

Lifeboats Alfa Romeo - Rear axle has lots of side to side play - Pinion still seems to engage well at full movement so hopefully not an issue, will run a couple of cautious laps to make sure it doesn't slip before racing.

Groundhogs Capri - Rear axle seems to have a lot of vertical movement - (assumed as built?)

Brumos RSR BMW - Front tyre fouls body at certain positions - (assumed as built?)

Event 3:

Red Dragon Laguna - Front tyre fouls body at certain positions - (assumed as built?)

Savage GT Calibra - Rear spoiler found broken within foam cut out - happened at previous round?

Event 4:

Harrisons Racers BMW 330 - Front axle binding a little - (assumed as built?)
