Making an assumption here in that the original shipping label I fixed to the top of the box which had senders name & address and delivery name & address and a phone number...has been covered with a new shipping label for some unfathomable reason and thereby has no delivery address showing and therefore ended up in lost property.
The address details on the official shipping label are smaller than hand writing.
I know I've said it before but if that's the case the box needs a large separate and obviously visible delivery and senders address/phone details note stuck to the side of the box, covered in sellotape to prevent damage.

And my question is why did Manx Independent Carriers remove or cover up the original label ?
if you put more labels on would they not remove or cover these up too.
To put it bluntly
If the new label was labelled to go directly to the Lost Property Office without a forwarding address, was the label changed because of a criminal intention to profit from the sale of the contents ?

One thing for certain is that the details provided by the company collecting the parcel ( ie consignment tracking numbers) should be checked carefully against the actual ones on the box. If the don’t match then don’t allow the box to be collected.
This one check could have saved all the aggravation, frustration and worry and delays which we have now.

There's no tracking details on the consignment note, only a consignment number.
The tracking code only came to light after phoning to ask why the delay on delivery and I gave them the consignment note number, they gave me the tracking number which was different to the one on the box.

when printing off the official label , it could have been printed any size , A4 for example
hell , it could have been printed A3 if so inclined
maybe the small label was damaged / smeared / ripped some how
could this be the reason it ended in lost property ?
covering the labels in clear tape is a good idea to prevent that type of thing happening
I've always done that with any parcel , belt and braces scenario
none of this speculation helps though
lets hope there is a resolution soon

Then I guess the answer is, don’t let “Manx Independent Carriers” collect the box as they are either a dodgy company or totally incompetent
My hope is that it is the latter at the moment

What you described is what I believe all hosts tend to do, ie tape all over the label so it can’t be torn off.
And it is what Kevan has told me he did also.
So since MIC is a relatively large delivery company who would know how these services work, I can only think this change of label was done for “malicious’ reasons by an employee. The question would be whether this was purely to cause confusion or whether there is some criminal intent involved.

It was, completely covered in sellotape for this exact reason.

As they're the largest carrier in the IoM and agents for most of the carriers 'across' that's not going to be easy, I'll have to look through the list in yellow pages
The annoying thing is they got the Rally proxy cars back to you in superfast time
