Yes, I got the car class bit, its the event points that frazzle my simple noggin
So, as before I just leave that up to you to do and nod in agreement
I was just pointing out my original intention was to run the stock chassis so i put that on the entry form as you have listed, but later changed to 3DP.

The other thing to take into consideration is the opposition, Event 1 only has 6 cars (only 5 before Graham changed his cars) so you'd have a better chance of doing well in that event whereas Event 3 has 15 cars and littered with competition grade cars like SlotIt so you'd need to be good at car setup to do well in that event.
As far as class is concerned, Class A was wide open to a careful choice of car, Scaley sidewinder looks like the hot ticket here and only 8 cars whereas Class B is chocka with 22 cars, it's going to be very hard to do well in that class.
So next time round take other things into consideration before choosing your car, personally I'm warming to the idea of a Class A jobbie and expecting the older era event to be less populated again...but those two things don't always happen together i.e. Event 1 and Class A
It has always been my intention to try and attract an equal number of entrants for each Event and for each Class. But probably in general entrants find the Classic Event or the Class A type cars more risky, whereas the other Events or Classes are more evenly balanced cars…at least that’s my theory.
It will be interesting if we go ahead next year with a proxy based on different car types but the same era, then we might see a more even distribution across the Events as the risk level is perhaps similar for all 4 choices or class levels….psychology never my strong point

I'd say event popularity is more to do with available competitive cars than anything else, wide and long is usually a much stronger place to start than short and narrow.
As there's a dearth of competitive old era cars on the market it's much easiest to start with a slotit or NSR than an old Scaley or Ninco.

To be honest knowing that we have more or less the same entrants and that we always get a high level of modified Scalex or Ninco cars I am not sure that’s the case. Generally we get fewer of the more modern brand cars, even with the current Event 3 in Touring cars, I might have expected more slot it cars then we actually have in this Event, so there seems to be no shortage of older Scaley or Ninco models.

I did say old era cars and that's what I was referring to as in Event 1 in this proxy, maybe it's just a perception of what's on the market at the moment.
For example what is there you could have used to enter Class A in Event 1 if you wanted to aim high in both of those points tables especially Class A where you'd be up against Scaley and Ninco DTM's.

lol I look solely at the car and the event. I’m confused by the class as there’s no way my 911 can compete with an Opel regardless of chassis. Therefore, I ignore that completely as it would crest an IROC of Opels.

That's actually what I did too, just build something and match it up with event/class afterwards.

Actually your 911 is competing with the Opels quite well so far in the 1st Round, 6th out of 12 cars in the Class.

9th fastest car overall too and one of the easiest cars of the lot to drive, one of the cars that Andy & myself both remarked on at the end of the day...even today when he popped in to see me at work.

What was the issue with Brumos BMW ?
Aluminium pickup on the motor shaft, typical setup with an inline crown. I've cleaned the motor shaft and lubed the groove. Thankfully the crown teeth look undamaged....caught it early!
