Should be OK now, just one of those days ........wife had her Bicycle back light stolen yesterday, so she road to the nearest bicycle shop today to get a replacement, they did not have any new ones but gave her a 2nd hand one for free. She tried it today but the batteries were dead, so I offered to take her to the nearest shop selling batteries... then I got a flat front tyre due to the very poor condition of the major road leading into Nottingham, so spent the last hour trying to get a mobile service out (as my car does not carry a spare tyre) . The tyre fitting company does not have the right tyre sort locally, so I will have to wait until Thursday...... hope your all having a better day

The google database on the leading page should now be up to date (fingers crossed), luckily markem's numbers were pretty easy to input, no nasty decimal points  Bigsmile

Wavegreen Good evening,

well that was a very smooth Round 9 at the Tyneside Slot Club with our hosts from the nearby NERCS Club. Very well managed and it all got done before it got too late  Handshake
Perhaps not surprisingly the Landcrab of the leading host did not manage to break any new proxy series records, although I would have chuckled if it had  Rofl

This turned out to be a good night for the Rally B (Event 2) cars, in fact the best Round todate for them

And the cars once again on their way, this time to another new venue at the Manx Slot Racing Club in Isle of Man who will be running the very last Round 10. This is a 2 day trip and our first across the water (well OK, not far across the water).

Pitlane Review after Rounds 1-9 (Stage 1-18)
Monte Carlo (Event 1)
1st Place                               2nd Place                        3rd Place
ManxAndy                          ManxKev                            Roadrunners
Jaguar XK 120                    Jaguar XK120                    Jaguar X120

Perhaps the Jaguars of ManxAndy and ManxKev struggled a bit on this Round, which enabled the RoadRunners Jaguar to catch up just a little, but not enough to worry to influence the final outcome I suspect.

Rally B Car (Event 2)
  1st Place                          2nd Place                        3rd Place
Bangers Racing                 Harrison's Racers               Green Star Racing
Metro 6R4                          Lancia 037                        De Tomaso

Bangers Racing's Metro comfortably ahead, but Harrison's Racers Lancia making it into 2nd place with less than the thickness of a cat's whisker ahead of Green Star Racing's De Tomaso. This could go down to the line.

Rally Legends (Event 3)
  1st Place                         2nd Place                      3rd Place
RoadRunners                    Savage GT                  Brumos RSR
Fiat 131 Abarth                  Porsche 914/6             Porsche 914/6

Still hanging onto 1st place my RoadRunners Fiat 131 Abarth, lost out completely to the Porsche guys this Round once again, so all will depend on the last Round. Brumos RSR has finally just pipped BARacer's TR7 into 3rd place, but again anything could happen in the last Round.

WRC Modern (Event 4)
 1st Place                        2nd Place                        3rd Place
Ruscillo Racing                Bangers Racing              Woodcote Racing
Citroen C4                        Citroen Saxo                    Subaru

Bangers Racing's Saxo took another 4 secs off Ruscillo Racing's C4, and now only 6 seconds between them, could be an interesting finally. The Subaru of Woodcote Racing looking comfortable in 3rd.

Class A (RTR Standard Cars )
1st place                          2nd Place                       3rd Place
Scott Sports                    Harrisons Racers               Team Alaric
Renault Clio                      Lancia 037                      Subaru

it will be a very close finish between the Renault Clio of Scott Sports and the Lancia of Harrison's Racing

Class B ( Modified & Scratch builds)
1st Place                           2nd Place                       3rd Place
RoadRunners                    Ruscillo   Racing              Bangers Racing
Fiat 131 Abarth                   Citroen C4                     Citroen Saxo

Looking good for RoadRunners Fiat for the Class win, much less certain for 2nd place as the Saxo of Bangers Racing draws in closer.

Class C (ProCars)
1st Place                   2nd Place            3rd Place
Savage GT            Green Star Racing      Brumos RSR
Porsche 914/6           De Tomaso            Porsche 914/6

Looking like the Savage GT team has this all sewn up for the Class C results. Brumos Porsche 914/6 closing the gap to the De Tomaso of Green Star Racing.

Team Points
1st place - Bangers Racing
2nd Place - Savage GT
3rd Place - Harrisons Racers

At the moment barring any last minute hitch it is looking like Bangers Racing will take the 1st place, however it does not take that much for Savage GT to make up the deficit, so could be a last Round Challenge. Harrisons Racers are also in with an outside chance having moved ahead of my RoadRunners.

So the cars are on the way  Camptrailerfor the very last leg of the journey to the Isle of Man where our hosts will be hopefully giving us another great set of results to complete the" Rally Cars Slotting Rally"

Yes we have reached the end of the "Rally Cars Slotting proxy", and I hope both the entrants or spectators have enjoyed it.
So after 10 Rounds and 20 stages the final results are about to be entered  Sun

I would like to thank Kevan & Andy at the Manx Slot Car Club for all their effort, all the hosts know that running 41 odd cars once is quite enough, twice is bordering on the limits of concentration etc. Regarding the last Round, Kev & Andy ran each stage twice to ensure complete fairness in the the running of the cars. So I think they did both very well within the daylight hours to have completed the Round  Thumbup

Regarding the last Round Results I have taken the average of the two drivers results for each of the 2 Stages as the Final Stage Result, otherwise effectively it would have been 4 stages and the cummulative times would be somewhat overly excessive compared to the previous Rounds.

Afterwards I will ask Kevan to do  Photos of the Podium for the Event, Class and Team winners to complete the results.
And of course I will finish off with the last Pitlane Review, and a general round up.
The Medals and vouchers will be awarded in due course bearing in mind that our main Sponsors are quite busy this weekend at the Slot Car Festival.

I'll do the podium pics shortly as there wasn't time yesterday/early morning (yes it really was 3am when I finally went to bed).

I've shared the google sheet results with Graham to make his life a little easier.

This is the first time I've driven proxy cars even though our club has hosted events in the past.

I quickly realised there was no pressure either, unlike a normal Rally night where it's your own 4 cars against other cars in the same classes.

Andy & myself are always the guys to catch when we have Slot Rally (the next one is next week actually and the cameras have been left set up) so it was interesting to see how the rest of these cars compared.

Thanks to everyone who ran rounds, anyone who freely helped but never got to drive the cars, Graham for organising all this, the event sponsors and all you guys who prepped cars for the rest of us to drive.

I'm already looking forward to the next Rally proxy as 'lessons have been learned'.

Life is like a box of Slot cars... Cool Drinkingcheers

So to the Review,

So as to the distribution,  overall this Round was probably the most balanced, even getting a Monte Carlo car into the fastest top 5 cars.

It has always been my intention to introduce different aspects to these Proxy series, whether it is Rule changes, Formats, or different Hosts and tracks, and in doing so I like the idea of throwing the dice to see what happens. And this was the case with Manx Slot Club, every Round has given us a different perspective, but of course the "better prepared Teams" tend eventually to win out, in the course of adversity.

And there is always the possibility of unexpected upsets, as with Ruscillo Racing's Citroen C4 which lost out on the last Stage, and spoiled his chance of a Event win  Angry  However that is the nature of the beast. A little like my race at the Slot Car Festival yesterday, I thought I was in with a chance to walk away with a 1st Place Trophy in the Policar F1 modified Class, battled all the way through the 4 heats against my rival (ex club mate Dave Farrow), but 2 slip ups and he had me beat. Never mind there is always next year  Rofl

Anyway I digress..

Pitlane Review - Final Results (Rounds 1-10)
Monte Carlo (Event 1)
1st Place                 2nd Place                    3rd Place
Manx Andy               ManxKev                    RoadRunners
So its well done to the Manx Slot club members Kevan & Andy, I think the Brass chassis Jaguar with the more powerful motor would win out right from the start, at one point thought the RoadRunners might get between them but it lost out a couple of times early on and never quite caught up. Surprised the Austin Healey of Green Star Racing did not find its feet, seemed a very well balanced car to me, but just could not keep up with the Jaguars.

Rally B Cars (Event 2)
1st Place                  2nd Place                 3rd Place
Bangers Racing         Savage GT               Harrisons Racers
Metro 6R4                 BMW M1                  Lancia 037
Maintained the lead most of the way there, the Metro of Bangers Racing was going to be a hard act to follow, although the BMW M1 of Savage GT had some early bad luck, so the outcome could have easily been different. More surprisingly the Lancia 037 of Harrisons Racers held onto 3rd place, so congratulations to them. There was faster cars in the field of course, and if only the guide had been set up correctly I think the Porsche 924 of Courtney Sport might have stolen the show.

Rally Legends (Event 3)
1st Place                   2nd Place                   3rd Place
Road Runners            Savage GT                  Brumos RSR
Fiat 131 Abarth          Porsche 914/6             Porsche 914/6
It was even more of a case of good fortune which enabled the Fiat of RoadRunners to win this Event. I never expected it from the outset, and clearly on the more straightforward tracks the Porsche cars were faster. But unfortunately for other teams the guide issue restricted their ability to shine through. So with some satisfaction I will take the win over the Porsche cars as an indication that, they can be beat on a Rally  Sun
BARacers TR7 did really well to keep up, really just lost out on the last Rounds.

WRC Modern (Event 4)
1st Place                   2nd Place                   3rd Place
Bangers Racing        Woodcote Racing         Ruscillo Racing
Citroen Saxo               Subaru                       Citroen C4
umm, how unfortunate, the Citroen seemed to have it in the bag, but the DNF on the last stage has dropped it from 1st into 3rd. Guess I am going to hear alot about that from my Club mate next Thursday  Tease
But although the Citroen Saxo was a little slow off the marks at the start of the Rally, it certainly gained latter on and is very much a worthy winner.
Commiserations to my buddy at the MM club. So near once again. Woodcote Racing Subaru was brilliant all the way through.

So as to the Class winners
Class A winner is Scott Sport's Renault Clio
Congratulations to Mike for his very 1st winners award, hopefully more to come, but only 2 seconds ahead of your team mate Harrisons Racers Lancia 037.
Class B winner is RoadRunners Fiat 131, congratulations to myself....I never saw that one coming  Bigsmile
Class C winner is Savage GT's Porsche 914/6, most consistent of the Porsche's

Best Team Award
Bangers Racing's Metro & Saxo, I thought they might just be pipped by Savage GT, but not this time. Great pair of cars from this team once again, and well deserved win.

Best Presented Car Award
After a virtually unanimous vote, goes to Gerry's team Novissium Iterum for the Austin 1800 Landcrab.
