all the entries have been received,
we have now 23 entrants with 41 cars here at HQ
Tomorrow I will start to set up the the Rally track and hopefully start some of the photo session's and release the scrutineer reports as we work through the Event cars.

 Good evening,

I have set up the Rally Stage track for next weekend, it was named "Spen Brook" and was previously owned by the Pendle Slot Club. 
Very conveniently fits into my garage as a potable 3 section course. Currently it is a 27ft long track,there is a part completed 4th section which would extend it further but I have not found time to work on this. It would mean that I would have to extend it outside the garage, so as the weather is still rather cold here I am preferring to keep the garage door shut. The Stage was meant to be run over 8 laps, and having ran my Scalextric test car today, I am getting a time of around 55 secs on a clean run and around 70 secs with the odd off or two. Probability at the moment is that over 8 laps there will be at least one off on the standard car run. I will practise some more before next weekend

Very clever that it is breaks down into sections,  but yes, best to keep the door closed at the moment!

The track has quite good grip once I had cleaned off the dust. The hill straight looks fast but there a couple of nasty kinks in it. The front section seems faster and more forgiving.

That looks an interesting Rally stage with a couple of mods done to it by the looks of it.

 Good afternoon
we will make a start on the Presentation of the cars, I am also preparing to attempt videos of the cars running on the "Rally Stage" tomorrow which if all goes well I hope to post on here during next week after I had a chance to edit them. And Sunday I will run the "Tarmac Stage" on my Carrera Raceway.
I intend to run 10 laps for the Rally Stage ( Spen Brook) and the 5 laps on the Tarmac Stage (Harlequin Raceway). The combined results will be posted and points allocated.

#36 Jaguar XK120 - ManxKev (Class B)
A warm welcome to the Club member entries from the Manx Slot car club
The first is the entry from Kevan, which is a Ninco body Jaguar XK120, with 3d chassis with Side winder configuration and Pioneer 18K motor.

#7 Alfa Gran Turismo (1931) - Groundhogs Class B
A welcome return to the Groundhogs Team, hoping to improve their chances in this new series of Proxy's.
This model has been well put together and will be a favourite of the hosts I think, running better now after a motor transplant, but of course it is a very old motor car so what can you expect     The body is an old vintage Pyro model (I think), but it has a modified Slot it in line motor mount and modified chassis added to it. And is fitted with a 23k rpm  Slot ir motor, so should be flying around the Tarmac stages.

#24 Austin 1800 (Landcrab as it was nicknamed) - Novissium Iterum Class B
Also a welcome return of what was formally know as Rokers Roar, perhaps not expecting a Event win with this model, but it will be another of those favourite cars which the hosts will enjoy running. Love all the baggage on the roof, looks like the team is expecting to be away some while on this Rally
The resin moulded model can be quite nippy down the straights as it is fitted with a Flat 6 25k rpm motor in line configuration on a JS Design Chassis. Around the corners maybe more problematic. Careful drivers only

#47 Jaguar XK120 - RoadRunners. Class B
I was disappointed not to be able to get the Porsche 356 into good enough running order for this proxy, but finally caved in and instead running this Ninco body soft top version of the Jaguar XK120 with a National Racers chassis and in line SRC 17K rpm M3 motor.

#8 Ford Cortina MK1 Class B
A Jim Clark inspired build from Lifeboats Racing Team, this Revell body model has a JS Design Chassis with in line Scalex motor. The Harlequin garage put in some man hours on this one (as it was Jim Clarks Rally car) initially it had plenty of ballast to weight it down, but not necessarily in right places . It runs with more stability now around the corners but with a lot of ballast and a standard Scalex motor will not be worrying the front runners I think.

However this 2nd entry from the Manx Slot Club will be worrying the front runners  
This again is a Ninco body but this time with a very impressive brass chassis and side winder King 25K rpm motor.

#21 Austin Healey - Green Star Racing Class B
After having seen active service recently, this proxy car is back from the "International Proxy " where it gave a good account of itself, to try its luck in the Rally Proxy.
It looks, and feels like a bit of a dark horse runner, which might well give the earlier Jaguar cars a run for their money   A Ninco body with Amato Chassis and Pioneer 18 K rpm in line motor. Should do well.

So we have 7 runners in this Event, 3 of which are Jaguars, and some really interesting rivals. Only one had a Brass & wire chassis.
This class is specifically sponsored by "George Turner Models" so the winner will get a voucher for one of the coveted model kits

In general all very compliant cars, a couple needed a little encouragement to comply with the rules regarding tyre widths but now all is perfect and there are no cars under investigation in this Event.

Welcome back Team Cube, their first car for this proxy is a Standard Scalex with nice wide rear tyres which should help them around the corners.

The 2nd car from Lifeboats Racing is this Audi Quattro A2. Standard Fly model.

#3 BMW M1 - Savage GT Class B
Another warm welcome to Savage GT whose entries into last years Autumn Proxy was certainly dramatic and competitive. This time the BMW M1 above was certainly very fast in the pre Proxy test run. It is looking similarly as fast and competitive as their previous cars.
The car is a fly body with Amato Chassis and SRP 25K SW motor

Welcome back to Ruscillo Racing, who have chosen a Team Slot Audi to run, the Team slot motor 22K rpm motor is in line.

Also back is Mountain View, one of the founding members of these Proxies and a good friend of mine, this time running a standard Scalextric side winder car.

A welcome entry from our Slotracer online founder whose has a special passion for Rally cars.
This car is a standard Ninco model with NC5 in line motor.

The 2nd car from this team originally had an over spec motor, but after a transplant is almost a standard Fly model with standard Fly motor mounted in line. However there are a few minor upgrades which designates this as a Class B car.

Returning this year is another member of the NERCS club, Harrisons Racers with a standard Ninco model.

#43 De Tomaso - Green Star Racing Class C
This car has entered almost every Proxy I have run  
Still as fast as ever and is a great choice for the Rally Proxy.
It is a Scaleauto body /chassis car with a SRC 20K M6 AW motor

#11 Metro 6R4 - Bangers Racing Class B
You can be sure of a fast car from this stable, and this converted Scalextric body car is no different. Attached to the body as usual is a HRS2 slot it adjustable AW chassis with a Boxer 21.5K rpm motor.

#9 BMW M1 - Brumos RSR Class B
Really great to see this team back, not the start they would have wanted and had to send a replacement car in an extremely short time frame. However it still seems quite fast to me and I am sure will be competitive. So this car has a Olifer chassis with SW Cahaza 25K rpm motor (not heard of that one before). But it has been tested for magnetic downforce and is compliant.

Looks like this car has just completed the "Dakar Sprint" race or perhaps been testing for it 
However this, the 3rd Audi Quattro A2 has a big motor fixed in so should do well on some Stages. It is a Fly modified model, with a King 25K rpm in line motor.

#3 Porsche 924 - Courtney Sport Class B
Umm well we know that Courtney always enters fast cars, however not such a certainty this time. Unfortunately the car required a motor transplant at Harlequin to make it compliant but to me still looks like a winner. And actually I never come across this Porsche model in a slot car competition before, so well done to this team for entering something a little different. The car is a Fly ? body with a Olifer chassis and the Pirahna motor has been replaced  with a SW Shark 25K rpm motor.
