Taking on the important topics that matter to you, we ask do Truspeed controllers have knobs or dials?

Also,is my new Team Slot Stratos really a metaphor for Dunkirk; Pedro gets some decals for one of his many white kits and one of us gets a Tax Return which is promptly invested in slot stuff.

Had to get an early start on this one just in case I need to make a color change if someone else wants to run this Livery.  I have no problem painting this one silver.

A couple of addons for the RSM tyre truer in line with Gregs work on the Tire Razor

I used to have a spring under the adjustment knob with a washer, this helped slow down the machine backing off and my truer was like this for a few years!

A couple of months ago I decided to put a nyloc nut on the thread which locked the cut in place and made truing tyres much easier.  I used a small spanner to hold the nut when making adjustments but seeing Gregs indexed knob cover for the Tire Razor immediately brought a simple idea to mind, a 3D printed downstop lock to fit over the nyloc...this works great!

Next useful accessory was an indexed and larger diameter knurled adjustment knob cover.

RSM Truer Knob Cover fits straight over the original adjustment knob.

The indexing on the knob cover will make it easier to make adjustments.

When used with the downstop lock will improve the usability of your RSM Slot car tyre truer.

I printed this one in Prusament recycled PETG with the indexing on the top and supports on the plate.

Once printed I painted the indexing and numbers with acrylic paint, once dry it was rubbed on wet & dry paper on a flat surface  to remove the overpaint.

Thanks to Andy for the race report:

There was a good turnout for this week. Everyone was keen to race after there being no racing the week before.  All Racers were hoping for a calmer night after the chaos of the rally a few weeks ago which saw most drivers damage at least one car, with some breaking more.
So with GT3 Grp5 class being the second Fastest Class, and with there being a slight change to the rules allowing the use of NSR cars and some other motor options it was interesting to see if anyone could take the  advantage.
The heat races went by without too much incident. It was good to see all the youngsters getting involved, and their lap times steadily improve throughout the night. There was some good racing from Tel and Darren to get to the b final, and  Graham is starting to find his feet in  hard body racing having come from the BSCRA series of racing.  There was a couple of noticeable absences in Paul and Terry, so this gave a chance for some different drivers to mix it up with the faster drivers.

D final: Andy in green, Evie in blue and Alice in red. This final put Andy up against two of the younger racers of the night. Off line and took an early lead and left Alice and Evie to fight it out for second and third; it was a good battle developing between the girls with Evie pulling ahead after Alice had come off a few to many times. Out the front Andy had pulled out a substantial lead of about t laps. Alice was putting up a good fight to try an catch Evie up but just couldn't quite get there. It finished Andy in first, Evie in second and Alice in third.

C final: Jake in green, Graham in blue to Jason in red and Andy in yellow. All four got off to a good start and there was little to choose between them for the first lap. Jake and Andy Started to pull out an lead, over Jason any Graham, in the second lap and quickly managed to build a gap over third and fourth. The battle for first was close by it Andy managed to edge out a half lap lead over Jake. With 8 laps to go Andy had an off at the hairpin and then again at Snoopy's foot, this aloud Jake to take the lead.  Jason was going well in third, pulling out a good lead over Graham, and catching Andy in third.  Jake was going well at the front having pulled out a good lead, over Andy who trying to play catch up but just didn't have the pace.  Jason had closed the gap on second but unfortunately there wasn't enough laps left in the race. It finished Jake in first, Andy second Jason third and Graham forth.

B final: Mark in green, Jake blue, Tel red and Darren yellow. Mark and Tel got off to a flying start, pulling out a good early lead over Jake and Darren. There wasn't much to choose between them over the opening laps but Mark started to pull out a lead over Tel. At the back of the pack Jake was having a good fight with Darren, with places constantly changing. On the end Jake was having a few issues with a certain corner, same one each lap, and had a few offs. As a result Darren pulled ahead and Jake just didn't have the pace to catch up. Finishing Mark in first, Tel in second, Darren third and Jake in forth.

A final: James in green, Ken in blue, Elliot red and Mark yellow. This was set to be a good race, with James having been on his usual fast form with his Toyota. At the start James got off to a fantastic start with elliotnin hot pursuit.  Leaving Mark and Ken to fight it out at the back. Ken initially pulled ahead of Mark but only for a few laps then Mark pulled back and passed Ken. At the front Elliot managed to get Infront of James and was holding him off for a number of laps but he couldn't avoid the on form James who was on a flyer of a race caught up and for a few more laps put the pressure on Elliot, before he got passed and took the lead. It finished James in first, Elliot secon, Mark third and Ken fourth.

HO Formula One - Wednesday 1 March 2023

We’re back at the Barn this Wednesday for some HO F1 action.

After a slightly disrupted start to 2023, race nights will now take place as per the schedule - although it might be Easter until the pre and post-race coverage starts to get back to normal. A big thanks to everyone for mucking in - especially Mike and Simon with digital, Terry and Pete with HO and to Ash, Oliver and Ryan for their excellent work on race control.

Regs for our HO Formula One race can be found here: https://www.whoracing.org.uk/rules.html As usual, doors open at 6.30 for practice, with heats starting at 7 and followed by step-up finals. Club cars and controllers are always available for no extra charge. Race fees are £3 for the whole night, £2 for under-16s. We ask that younger racers under 12 years old bring a responsible adult with them.

Race coverage will be added here in due course. Please free to post your own pictures, videos and stories from the night!
