• Scalextric Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Scalextric have released a surprise model, which wasn’t in the catalogue, or mentioned as an upcoming release. It is the Chevrolet Camaro Z28, driven by Peter John in the 1982 DTM. There is some discussion of this model on the forum. Is it missing an umlaut from Düsseldorf, are the wheels correct, and will it make a great looking addition to a Scalextric Muscle car series? What do you think?

• Hobbyclassic Audi RS Q e-tron E2 Hobbyclassic have released an Off Road Resins model of the Audi RS Q e-tron E2, which was driven to victory in the 2024 Dakar Rally by Carlos Sainz. It is a numbered, limited edition of just 50 units. Edit: Please note that this sold out within a day of its release.

• Slot.it Oreca 07 Slot.it have released a second livery for the Oreca 07 featuring the colours of the Inter Europol Competition team. It models the #34 car which took the LMP2 class victory at the 2023 24 Heures du Mans, driven by Albert Costa, Fabio Scherer and Jakub Śmiechowski.

• Scalextric Shelby Mustang GT350 Scalextric have released a new Ford Mustang. It is the car raced across the UK by Paul Kenelly in the Equipe GTS historic series.

• George Turner Models Cull Available now but not for long! It’s that time of year when George Turner removes certain kits from production. So, if you had any plans to buy an MGB Roadster, a Cobra Coupe, a Sunbeam Alpine Road version, an Elan Sprint, a Monte Carlo Rally Falcon, or an Edwardian Benz Racer, this could be your last chance. • Slot.it Matra Simca 670B Slot.it have released photos of a new livery for the Matra Simca 670B model. This recreates the second of three consecutive wins for Matra at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with Henri Pescarolo and Guy Larrousse taking victory in 1973. Expected in the first quarter of 2025.

History

• The One and Only Cheetah Anthony has been taking a look at the history of the Cheetah, both the real car, built by Chevrolet performance tuner Bill Thomas, and the many slot car models which have recreated it in miniature. It’s definitely worth a read, and if you have a Cheetah model yourself, we’d love to see it.
