Slot car fun, in week forty one.

Featuring a Gerry Marshall Lotus, a reinforced Porsche, a Spa conquering Nissan, five new Acuras, an unnamed car that’s no mystery, and a McLaren that didn’t get very far. Plus we have a couple of fond farewells, a bunch of fantastic photos, and the latest events and videos.

- Scaleauto Acura NSX Scaleauto have released five new liveries for the Acura NSX GT3. Or should that be one new livery in five different colour schemes? Either way they are shipping out now.

- Scaleauto Williams FW17 As always, Scaleauto aren’t actually naming the two new liveries for their generic Formula 90-97 cars. But it doesn’t take a genius to realise that the cars represent the Williams FW17, driven by Damon Hill and David Coulthard in the 1995 F1 season.
Future Releases

- Fly Porsche 911S Rafa Fly has posted photos of a new Porsche 911 that is more than just a new livery. This one comes with all the additions to recreate SobiesÅ‚aw Zasada’s fourth placed car in the 1968 London-Sydney Marathon.

- Slot.it Nissan Skyline GT-R Slot.it have posted prototype photos of a new Nissan Skyline GT-R livery. The original car took a dominant victory in the 1991 Spa 24 Hours, winning by 21 laps in the hands of Bert Anders Olofsson, Naoki Hattori, and David Brabham. Arriving in Q2-Q3 2024.

- Slot.it McLaren M8D Slot.it have released new photos of the next livery for the McLaren M8D. The model represents the Can-Am car driven by Ed Felter at Laguna Seca in 1973. The extravagantly liveried car wasn’t driven for very long though, retiring after an accident on lap 2. Expected Q4 2023, available to pre-order.

That’s All!

- SlotCar Today Albert Boet has announced that Slotcar Today is to close. “Yes, it’s true, I’m retiring, it’s my turn and age is unforgiving, which means saying: That’s all!” Many thanks to Albert and the whole SlotCar Today team for keeping us updated with slot car news for the last decade and more.

- Model Car Racing Another slot car staple which we must bid farewell to is Model Car Racing. Robert Schleicher’s excellent publication is coming to an end, with the latest issue also being the last. The digital version of the final magazine is available for $4.95 from the Model Car Racing website, and there is also a free sample issue which contains around a third of the articles. As a special one-off, there is also a limited run of printed copies available from Electric Dreams. Many thanks to Robert for all his work in the hobby over many years.
