Slot Cars

August is traditionally a slow news time in the slot car world. The southern European manufacturers are off on their holidays – and production in the Far East is looking shaky after a wave of Covid outbreaks and lockdowns. So this teaser from Staffs Slot Cars UK is very welcome. Read more here.

The NSR team might be on their summer holidays, but they’ve left us with the promise of these new releases for September. That Porsche is a special high-performance race-prepared version too. You can find details on the NSR website here.

Slot.it’s long-awaited Nissan GT-R Nismo looks fabulous. Still no news on an exact arrival date, but there are some pre-production images on the Slot.it website. You can find more here.

Motorsport

The British GT Championship delivered two exciting races in changeable weather conditions this weekend. In common with race tracks around the UK, everyone at Snetterton observed a minute of silence to reflect on the loss of a marshal’s life at Brands Hatch last week. On track, two cars that will be 2021 Scalextric new releases took GT3 and GT4 honours in Race Two. You can find the re-cap of the weekend on the British GT Championship website here.

The Nascar Cup series was back road course racing at Watkins Glen on Sunday. It was a race full of drama which you can re-live on the Nascar website here.

The start of the 2021 Le Mans 24-hours is just twelve days away. The 89th edition of the biggest event in endurance racing takes place on the 21-22 August. You can get up to speed on the official website here.
