THE WIRRAL SLOT CAR CLUB are hosting a Can Am challenge event on the 27/04/24
The rules are for 1/32 scale cars that participated in the Can Am races in North America from 64 to 74. The club has taken the CSCRA CAN-AM rules and made slight adjustments to run the fixture.
There is a list of eligible cars from NSR, Slot it, Thunderslot, MR Slot Car Carrera, Fly, Monogram
and resin models too. The fundamentals are S-Can motors only up to 25K, mounting position free,
original interiors except for Carrera and 3D chassis are allowed. Cars must be open cockpit. ( although there is evidence that enclosed cockpit cars did compete for the sake of illustrative context, we are only allowing open cockpit.)
The format is 3min sprint races with a prize for the Sprint Cup , then we have a break with a presentation by Steve Hills of TRUSPEED to explain and answer specific questions on how to get the best out of you Apex or any of his controllers but more specifically the Apex which can be complex.
This is then followed by a 6 Min Endurance Race with a prize of Enduro Cup then the combined distance of the two events will then go towards an Overall Victor Cup.
Steve will be on hand to give advice on settings as he can note the particular driving styles of the racers and give bespoke help.
If you are interested please reply so I can send you a set of detailed rules and eligible cars as well as administrative details required to attend.
