After taking a year off, the GT3 Proxy, run across various wood tracks in North America, has come round again. Entries closed in August, and along with myself, both OXO Cube and AdeC from here have also entered. Not forgetting that this is a home proxy for a couple of overseas entrants to the various proxies that Graham runs on here!
First hurdle is to get your car safely to Rob in Kelowa, British Columbia, before the end of October. I posted mine a week or so ago and according to tracking information, it is getting close to it's final destination.
Second hurdle is to get through the pre-qualfying event that they have had to introduce to whittle the entries down to a more manageable number. I failed at this hurdle last time, but OXO Cube got through the selection and got to play with the big boys for the following six months or so.
This time round I have two more years experience of car preparation to call upon, and rather than just put a car together based on gut instinct like I did last time, I got the car built in the Spring and spend a bit of time over the Summer fettling it into what I hope will be a worthy entry that offers some sort of competition to all the other entries.
So here it is, a Race Sideways BMW M6 on it's final outing at Molesey Slot Car Club, where their Monday evening practice sessions offered me the opportunity to run it on a track similar in type to those it may encounter over the pond.
Fingers crossed that it has a good showing at the pre-qualfying, alongside the cars from OC and AdeC!
