Is there a slot-it motor that is a direct fit into a Scalextric Ford falcon? Hoping for a higher rev motor,  if there is what would be favourite ?  Thanks

Hi Charlie,

Scalextric 18k motors are a standard size. Several Slot.It or NSR motors fit that car. You can get a 20k, 22k, 25k, 30k, or a 40k if you like. Choose wisely. Going too fast can take the fun out of a car.

Thanks, maybe a 20k slot-it then. What about the standard tyres, would some of that fancy oil help or just sand them a bit ?

SlotIt don't do a 20k but the 21k is a very nice motor, smooth, not as brutal as an NSR 21.5k

NSR makes a 20k Shark. But, the Slot.It 21k is also good.

If you keep the stock tires. Sanding or truing them really helps. You can also buy silicone tires if you want more grip, and prefer not to true them.

Truing any tyres helps but truing silicones on Scaley plastic wheels...good luck with that one

I agree. You can't true silicones on a Scalex car. However, many silicone tires don't require truing.

You need to get lucky out of the gate with plastic wheels that don't wobble. Some cars are better than others.

I think I will go for a 20k scale auto motor, opinions of them please ..supposed to be quick with good torque,

Motors are much of a muchness, you won't really feel torque differences in motors until you have tyres that give great grip.  The #1 most important thing on a car is tyres, that's where the lap times are when you're racing non-mag.

So in order of most important (non-mag):
1. tyres
2. gearing
3. motor

Of course chassis ballast down low helps tremendously with full interiors.
