Round 1 of Scalextric/SCX GT class. First of all I would like say thank you to that braved the ‘slightly windy’ weather to come out and race and, made it a worth while and very fun night.
Scalextric/SCX GT is another one of our unmodified classes and as a result brings with it some close racing, cars have a low centre of gravity making them stable and fast.  The heats all proved to be close, with the only drama coming in one of the last heats when Tom’s back wheel came off down the back straight.
After all the heats has been completed everyone was geared up for their finals.
Final C put Tom up against Andy. Tom was in red and Andy was in Green.  Andy took an early lead and started to pull away that was where he stayed until the end of the race, meaning that he progressed to the B final.
The B final looked like this:
Ken in Green
Andy in Blue
Mark in Red
Paul in Yellow

Racing was close between Mark and Kenwith not a lot between them in the opening few laps but Ken started to edge away causing Mark to have to push a little harder as a result this caused him to deslot and the marshal took a bit of time putting the car back onto the track. Meanwhile at the back of the field and Paul and Andy were locked in a battle for 3rd and 4th place. Paul managed to keep ahead of Andy and with Mark coming off towards the end of the race Ken took a comfortable victory.

So for the main final:

James was in green
Heather was in blue
Ken was in red
Elliot was in yellow

Unfortunately Heather made a jump start so that instantly put her at the back of the field meaning that she had to play catch up from the start, Ken too the race to James for the moment the light went out and that proved to be a tight battle for first but James showed his skill and kept ahead.  Heather, despite the jump start, did well to make up her lost lap and catch up to Elliot although couldn’t quite get ahead of him despite her best efforts.  So the final positions looked like this James came in First followed closely by Ken, with Elliot in third and Heather Rounding off the field.
