I am hosting the first race of the CanAm Proxy sometime in the next week. I will post the video link here for my qualifying session and link for the race for those that are interested. This season again the 28 car field is dominated by Thunderslots. This is to be expected as these cars are so wonderful to tune and race. Case in point my third place overall stock Thunderslot McLaren the previous season was fitted with NSR tires and tuned the afternoon before I was required to ship the car....awesome cars out of the box. American BrumosRSR won the Championship and DRW21 from New Zealand came in second overall. This season I decided to try and beat Thunderslot at their own game with a Slot.it Ford GT40 chassis underneath my Thunderslot McLaren body. A Tall task with a very very good chance I will fail but why not and try to beat Thunderslot with a Slot.it! I have to try!!
I cut off the existing posts of the McLaren body and epoxied new posts to fit the Slot.it chassis plus I needed to extend the width of the chassis with plastic as the GT40 chassis is very narrow.
Here is the 28 car field.

Just found this a little too late but hey, least I am here and now reading and watching. We have just introduced the Can-Am class to our events, damn those Slot.it Can-Am's just don't exist in Australia... another damn car that is hard to get for a class (all out of stock), I'm sick of these hard to find cars and classes... first Ninco's now Slot.it Can-Am's....
I've found some internationally which I've ordered and way cheaper than the advertised of out of stock cars price wise than what I could find in Australia.
Putting the foot down

on these hard to find cars from now on... if the cars and parts are not readily available I'm not interested in racing them, period... complete PITA all because a few people are stuck in the 18th century

Here is the results for the 12 lap CAN-AM qualifying I ran yesterday. Congratulations to Chrisguyw for the pole, it is a fantastic car, well done! My car finished close behind in second and Brumos RSR finished third. Five cars (Audi1 4th & CJ74 5th) with a top time in the 6.6 second range is absolutely fantastic and unheard of! The Thunderslot cars all as expected performed and felt really really good. Thunderslot cars are so quiet, perform so well and are very forgiving! Shout out to modlersc's car the #66 Chaparral ran beautiful! Kudos for building a very well running non traditional ready to run car! Another shoutout to ALS for sticking in the top spot for so long until you started inching down towards the end.

Here are the overall results from Race #1. Wow these cars are quick and smooth! I still think the Thunderslot cars are more forgiving than the Slot.it GT40 chassis I am using, but that's why we race 10 different tracks and drivers in a proxy. Audi1 finished second as he is certainly turning into a "Mr. Consistancy" with another good car. My favorite car was third place Chrisguyw's car overall..... that car will be a tough car to beat in the very end as it will amass a lot of laps in the various styles of tracks. I won't give a prediction but Mr. Walker built a very good car. Surprise car for me was ALS just based on the fact he finished so far down in Round 0 but his car was totally hooked up and and very manageable deep into the corners.
Congratulations to everyone in this Proxy and to the podium.
