In the cycling world where I have come from, there is a niche market for timber framed bikes.
Has anyone ever produced a timber chassis for a slot car?

Never comercially - however at the beginning of the noughties there was a 'craze' where people were using lollipop sticks (ice cream sticks) to create chassis.
They did work - however I dont think they were ever competitive.
I have a few of Gordons woodwork - and they are outstanding - your true vocation Gordon!!

Sadly, I don't have a lathe any more. I spent so much time turning that I became unaware of the amount of dust that was getting into the house, even with full extraction equipment. I got an offer I couldn't refuse so it went and Ronnie is happy with the (almost) dust free house.
I may get another small lathe at some stage but I suspect it will be a metal working one that I can use to make bits for slot cars!!
Sorry about the thread drift
