There has also been a request asking for 60's Front engined open engine cars to be included in Event 4 Class (1960-1965)
My original take on this was to just allow rear engined open wheeled cars, since the 60's F1/Indy race car period was mostly that of rear engined cars, and I have in mind that we might at some time in the future provide an earlier period proxy which would specifically include Front engined F1/Indy cars.
However in principal I can't argue with the fact that front engined F1/Indy cars did race in the early 60's.
Bearing in mind that so far we have only 6 entrants in the Event 4 overall, should I permit Front engined open wheeled cars to participate in the 1960-1965 class as it might attract at least one or two additional entries ?

As they did race against each other, why not. I know there was one objection about tweaking motor rules (which is understandable as the rules have already reached the final version albeit final v2).
I did initially think of a Cartrix Lotus 16 bodyshell but was put off because it was front engined and not eligible at the time.
...maybe you were a bit too quick releasing the final version of the rules

At the time I was anticipating running the proxy this Autumn, so the rules were released with that in mind. But with hindsight you can always be wiser after the event.

But it is also listed on the Professor Motor web site in the USA.
So I am inclined to permit this one to be used, I have measured the rpm of it which at 12volts appears to reach 20.5 krpm.
So if there are no objections to this being included I will add this to the motor list ?
This proposal has been rejected.

The only problem with some of the motors on the list is they're never in stock at Pendle, e.g. SRP motors.

yes it is a bit of a problem only having one after market motor supplier here. But it's not just an isssue for their own SRP motors, often they don't have some of the standard brand motors in stock either

I am shortly embarking on my vacation, on the issue of the inclusion of Front engined F1/indy cars of the early 60's, so far has not been a "veto" from any of the Registered Entrants.
So my further thoughts on this is that although these Front engined cars only ran in the earliest years (until 1962 ?) they can be included but they should have the dimentional aspects with that of the Front engined cars.
So if the proposal is adopted the following restrictions would specifically apply to these models: Max Tyre width 8mm, Axle/Tyre Max width (track) 53mm, Track clearance min 2mm, rear wheel/tyre diameter 21mm. Additionally only cars fitted with a Slimline motor would be permitted (Cartrix models with S-Can Motors would not be permitted)
There is a limited list of Front engine GP cars which were racing in the 60's.
As far as I am aware:
Ferrari Dino 246
Maserati 250F
Scarab
Aston Martin DBR5
BRM P45 & P25
Lotus 16 - Climax
Vanwall
Fergusson P99-Climax
Watson Roadster
So only these GP models would be permitted

I presume that should be front engined.
