Day 2 Report (Whitchurch Slot Car Club)
Desert Mountain Top (SCX Track)
Category 2 cars (SCX) Driver Paul
Most cars navigated the track quite well, with Paul driving them. Biggest issues were on the declines where cars tended to be too fast approaching the bend or ramp. Most of the cars negotiated the obstacles with ease except the older style SCX Nissan Patrol, Sandbuggy's and the Peugeot struggling moreso.
Category 1 cars (Ninco's) Driver Chris
With the removal of most of the obstacles apart from the short sloping ramp, the cars ran faster, but that also led to some having a greater issue slowing down on the declines, and one or two rolled out the track. Roadrunners Bowler seemed particularly well planted getting the 2nd fastest time overall on this stage, and GPA113 VW Touraeg also making this appear a relatively easy ride.
Category 3 Cars (PoCars) Driver Paul
Because of the diversity of the models in this Category, the small sloping Ramp onstacle was also removed for these cars, the results were a little more spread out, but the NERC Mitsubishi Lancer seemed to be in it's element on this track on had the best timed run overall on this stage. The 2nd best was the Mitoos chassis based Groundhogs Fordster, where Roadrunners Mini Buggy, stuggled on the sharp corners due to the rear axle width. BAracing VW Touraeg, appears to be too light on the front for some track sections. Bangers Racing Landrover struggled a bit more on this track.
Category 4 (Trucks) Driver Paul
The repaired BAracing Mann truck ran quite well, and out performed the Roadrunners Merc Truck which seemed to get bogged down on the sharp corners.
Mountain Top ( Ninco Track)
Without any artificial obstacles, this was much more of a direct sprint race between all the vehicles. So the bend after the humps was more testing for some and the main hill decline for others but the times were faily similar between all the Categories.
Category 1 (Ninco cars) Driver Chris
Generally the Ninco's ran fastest on this Stage, with Roadrunners Bowler again the lucky winner of the Class, and 2nd fastest car overall again. Bangers Racing Mitsubishi Pajero Evo 2nd, and a particularly brave run by Woodcotes BMW X5 seemingly at home on this circuit
Category 2 (SCX cars) Driver Paul
This time the NERC Peugeot 405 was less hindered by the obstacles and was the best in class, even Roadrunners Nissan Patrol faired better than on previous Stages. 2nd and close behind was Bangers racing Mitsubishi Pajero Evo. Oxo Cubes VW Touraeg seeemed to struggled the most on this Stage.
Category 3 ( Procars) Driver Paul
James Mitsubishi Lancer seemed to back on form and was fastest overall on this track, NERC Mitsubishi Lancer into 2nd place, with Bangers Racing Landrover having its best run so far in the Stages.
Category 4 (Trucks) Driver Chris
Again it was BAracing Mann Truck which proved the faster of the two in this stage by a good margin.

Category 1 (Ninco)
So after a shaky start the Roadrunners Bowler is just ahead of the field.
Category 2 (SCX)
PaulC VW Tourareg has a 4 point lead.
Category 3 (Procars)
NERC Mitsubishi Lancer with a one point lead.
Category 4 (Trucks)
The new motor seems to be working for BAracing Mann Truck as they taken the advantage back from Roadrunners with a decisive Day 2 performance.
DAY 3 will be at the Worthing Slot Car Club on Wednesday evening, I will be there to see how they all run...and if my truck can recover it's lost momentum
