 well its been quite a long time, but now Round 1 at the North Staffs Slot Car Club is only one week away.

Today I have made all new boxes for the cars, each box lid will be secured with velcro tags, "deal or no deal" style

The boxes are ordered with cars from slowest to fastest according to the qualifying results (box 1 slowest & Box 5 the fastest)

                               

As it's a nearby club, I will go and help with the marshalling and record the videos.

The Round 1 was run today at the North Staffs Slot Car Club 
I was also there and recorded the videos which I will sort out in the next few days.
Many thanks to the club members who raced our cars, mostly the proxy round went very smoothly.
However as usual there was a few unexpected issues.
Merseyspeed - AMG Merc Coupe guide was too thick for the guide rails (surprising since the car ran ok on my Carrera track)
Demon Tweeks -Porsche 911 suddenly stopped on the 2nd run, the spur gear came adrift of the pinion.
Oxo Cube - Falcon XC became eratic running during 1st run, when checked it was found that the rear chassis mounting post had become detached from the body

I will be checking the video run time for the Rover SDI as the recorded time does not seem quite right.

I have checked all the videos this morning and there seemed to be a results error in the race between the BAracer Vauxhall Vectra & the AdeC Rover SD1 which I have now corrected.

Thanks to the North Staffs Slot Car Club drivers and crew for hosting and Roadrunner's video. This is my first Roadrunner's Proxy so I'm beginning to understanding how points are distributed between Events and Classes. The updated "Scoreboard" on the main page of Proxy is very helpful.

I always enjoy knowing more about the tracks the Proxy will be run on. Info such as Mag or non-Mag, racing surface, heat length, voltage , etc. are all interesting to me.

Looking forward to Round 2.
