I ran the cars today in order to determine their initial running order before I pack them for thed first actual scoring Round at NSSRC on the 12th May.
I treated it as a "Shoot out" Touring car session and recorded the video run of each car within each Class for each of the 4 Events.
There was a few issues:
The room temperature variation was not ideal, started this morning with the heater on as it was 5 degrees C initially but with the radiator on and after some track preparation I started when the room reached 15 degress C. However by the time I finished the running the last car the temperature had jumped up without heating on to 24 degrees C with the windows open by mid day. Also I normally use my fixed resistance DSM controller on my home track, but I decided to use my older Electric Truspeed controller (not the Apex I use for competition at clubs) to get better adjustment of the cars braking, but this seemed to developed a habit of not entirely switching off when I finished a run and some cars carried on running slowly around the track after releasing the trigger. So thats something else I need to take a look at.
And finally there was a couple of car issues:
Woodcotes Abarth- sounded like a bag of spanners and was running very irregulary, so I put it aside until the end and ran it again after oiling the axles and greasing the crown gear.
Krapspeed Jaguar MKII did not want to run the full 10 laps without throwing off a rear tyre, so that was re-run at the end with tyres glued on.
Fiery1 - BMW 635csi did not want to run with the wheel inserts in, so initially one came out and then another etc. So the car will now run the rounds without wheel inserts.
Modsports - Audi A4 kept bottoming out on the track inclines, so the clearance under the car needs to be checked again.
So what I will do is post the videos first and pregessively release the results, as the "shoot out " was run.
The intro video was redone at the end of the session.
