phew
that was a bit of a marathon .... loved every minute though
i tried to record footage but something went wrong
after the 1st leg i found out there was a problem with the camera
there was a couple of offs during the classic lane 1 round but i cant remember who it was ( sorry )
i was going to highlight them after viewing the footage  , but  any offs after that have been recorded on the sheets

i ran 10 laps for each car in the event
i recorded the total time for the placings for each  , and fastest lap for tie breakers if required
i am not sure how Graham works it all out , but hopefully there is enough info for him below

ok so here it is
the results

Classic Lane 1
Classic Lane 2

GT Lane 1
GT Lane 2

Proto Lane 1
Proto Lane 2

The Podiumites      well done to all

again sorry for the lack of footage ,
thoroughly enjoyed myself today guys
thankyou for allowing me to run these amazing cars .... truly amazing  ( every one of them ,,, except my 'Tippy' Tipo )
i cannot believe how close some of the times are in these events  ... split by 100th of a sec in one of the events , after 10 laps !!!!

so onto the next round

Gentlemen, I apologize for my miss here as both the 18 and 33 were assembled and reassembled respectively burning the midnight oil to meet the original mail in deadline.  Parts were removed from one car and moved to another without measuring.  I accept all penalties associated with the 18.

Tony, many thanks for "falling on your sword" and as this car has quite a noticeable discrepancy there will be a response in due course.

cars boxed up for their onward journey tomorrow
no damages or loose parts to report
good luck to all in the up coming events

regarding the #18 Corvette , this car is that good , that i am sure even with ' in spec ' tyres , this car would be just as competitive imho
i toyed with the idea of retiring my pathetic #3 Maserati , but if i had to cope with it , then why not everyone else  Rofl

I had not quite anticipated that Kev would have done everything yesterday, and was thinking of spending some time in my racing room at the end of the garden today. However it is somewhat rather colder than anticipated outside, so I will carry on with the review now that we have the results for Round 3

The SCOREBOARD has been updated

Round 3 Review
I guess we all would have liked to see the cars running.... or falling out the slot at Goldrock , so that was rather disapointing that the camera was not working. Perhaps next time. The results were fairly consistent between the 2 lanes for most cars which is good but also running the two lanes did give the cars "two bites of the cherry" as such which I think was good where the track capability, driver availability or choice and length of track is limited. Home advantage for the Oxo Cube Alfa 33/3 perhaps, but obviously did not much for the Maserati Tipo, perhaps the choice of using a B&W chassis was literally, not going in the right direction  Bigsmile
From the pre-race photos, it's looking like some cars are already developing some issues either with body bits coming loose or breaking off or mechanical issues which might
cause concern later on.
The issue of the non-conformance of one or two cars is something that I will address, I try not to get too enthusiastic about applying penalties for every minute indiscretion and hope that most of these issues can be resolved when the cars arrive before we start, however that is not always possible as in the case of the Corvette.
So there has to be judgement made as to if and by how much the non conformance gives the car an advantage over the other cars, and I think this can only be judged reasonably over the course of the series. I have asked Jason to look at introducing a mechanism into the SCOREBOARD in which I can apply a proportional penalty (deduction of points) at the end of the series.

So many thanks to Kevin for running the Goldrock Round  for us  Thumbup

Targa Florio Road race update.
Classic Event
So Brumos Corvette C1 scored a double wammy at Goldrock in Stages 5 & 6, which has elevated it into 3rd position. ModSports B Class Jaguar XK120 has regained the initative over the the other A Class Jags. Bangers Racing Ferrari 166 seems to have been more fired up during this last Round, so generally the field has closed up.
1st - ModSports (Jaguar XK120B ) 65pts
2nd - ModSports (Jaguar XK120A) 60pts
3rd - Brumos RSR (Corvette C1) 58pts

Gran Turismo
Brumos Corvette having another good run in Round 3, also good run for Bangers Racing Cobra, and the Demon Tweeks Corvette Speedster making up some ground. Equipe Ferrari 250P showing some form on this track.
1st - Brumos RSR (Corvette Coupe) 63pts
2nd - Bangers Racing (Shelby Cobra) 56pts
3rd - Demon Tweeks (Corvette Corvette Speedster) 54pts

Prototypes
These Stages were kind to Roadrunners Ferrari 412P in particular, and OXO making Podium appearances again with the Alfa Romeo 33/3. Ruscillo Racing Ford GT40 slipping back a little but still making the podium on Stage 6. Demon Tweeks Elva had mixed results, getting 1st on Stage 5 indicates that given the right circumstances the car is aa potential Round winner. Another surprisingly poor run for the NSR Lola T280 of ALS. And Brumos RSR De Tomaso seems to have slumped back on this track.
1st - Roadrunners (Ferrari 412P)  77pts
2nd - Ruscillo Racing (Ford GT40) 71pts
3rd - Oxo Cube (Alfa Romeo 33/3) 60pts

So the Class leaders are:
Class A - ModSports (Jaguar XK120A)
Class B- ModSports (Jaguar XK120B)
Class C - Equipe T (Ferrari 250P)
Class D - Brumos RSR (Corvette Coupe)
Class E - Batmanx Porsche 908/02)
Class F - Roadrunners (Ferrari 412P)

Next weekend the cars should be arriving for the Round 4 (Rally Style Stages 7 & 8) at Wearside & Tyneside Slot car Clubs.

Thanks Kev for hosting this round.  It sounds like you really enjoyed the experience and as you say a shame the camera didn't work so that you/we can experience the cars going round your track.   Thumbup

Life is like a box of Slot cars... Cool Drinkingcheers
