Targa Florio Road Race Proxy - Results
#61

And finally we have most of the Prototypes, but it looks like the Camera ran out of battery power on the last batch of cars sadly.

Having seen the videos, I will make my Review report tomorrow.

Demon Tweeks McLaren lost 5 seconds at the start of the second run because the controller was plugged into the wrong lane after the computer said 'GO'

Wavegreen Good Morning

Another great round from the Trelawney guys, many thanks for your hard work and commitement.

Round 2 Review
Sadly we lost the opportunity to see the Stage 4 Podium winners in action, or even Roadrunners Ferrari 412P due to Camera car running out of fuel. However the rest of the runs did show that apart from a few glitches resulting from an unfamiliar format, most of the cars made it around the stages .....eventually.
My overall impression is that with only 5 laps and most of the cars suffered with de-slotting at one time or another, time loss was a very prominent factor in the final reckoning. But of course this is also a predominant factor in the Rally Stages in other rounds.
It is the case with Rally style racing that the most stable cars usually win out over the faster less stable ones, and I think this clearly the case here.
My other observation was that the local cars did not seem to have the home advantage as might be expected, so probably this Rally style format effected everyones cars in much the same manner.

Overall it was great Round for Batmanx & Brumos cars in particular, and perhaps a more challenging one for the others.......

Summary so far
Classic Event
So with Batmanx Jaguar out running both his Club mates Jags and the rest of the field in both stages, it's looking like a Jaguar "Lock out" at the top. And Brumos Corvette C1 had a better run on Stage 3 this time.
1st - ModSports - Jaguar XK120B (43pts)
2nd - ModSports - Jaguar XK120A (42pts)
3rd - Batmanx - Jaguar XK120A (36pts)

Gran Turismo
Brumos Corvette had another well deserved run on these Stages, and Bangers Racing Cobra made it into 2nd place. This is going to be a tough battle. Roadrunners Revo Alfa had a better run this time as did Makem's Bizzarini (with front body screw firmly fixed in place, I hope)
1st - Brumos RSR -Corvette Coupe (42pts)
2nd - Bangers Racing - Shelby Cobra (38pts)
3rd - Demon Tweeks - Corvette Speedster (33pts)

Prototypes
Well this Round was somewhat more of a unpredictable outcome for most cars in this event. I thought the De Tomaso of Brumos ran very well on stage 3 and most certainly would have done again on Stage 4 if it had not de-slotted so badly, and Demon Tweeks Mclaren Elva (which incidentally was entered in the Targa Florio as a Coupe, but failed to turrn up at the start in 1967 ) see photo below, again had a similar fate as Brumos, success in Stage 3 but not so much luck in Stage 4. So in Stage 4 we had some unexpected benificiarys, Oxo Cube's Alfa 33/3 and Batmanx Porsche 908/02. Luckily both Roadrunners Ferrari 412P, Ruscillo Racing Ford GT40 & Krapspeed Alfa 33/3 landed both Rounds fairly unscathered.

1st - Roadrunners - Ferrari 412P (50pts)
2nd - Ruscillo Racing - Ford GT40 (48pts)
3rd - Krapspeed - Alfa Romeo 33/3 (40pts)

So current Class Leaders after Stages 3 & 4
Class A - ModSports- Jaguar XK120A
Class B - Modsports -Jaguar XK120B
Class C - Makem - Bizzarrini
Class D - Brumos - Corvette Coupe
Class E - Batmanx - Porsche 908/02
Class F - Roadrunners - Ferrari 412P

However it is early days, and everything will probably change in the next Rounds.

The next round will be at Goldrock on the Scalextric Sport Track

Many thanks to all the guys at the Trelawney club.

It looked as though you enjoyed driving the cars, personally I'd say the most spectacular lineup of cars yet in Grahams proxies but I'm biased as I love old era cars.

So far we've had two rounds with two lots of eye-opening results.

It's probably best to watch the series with no expectations because there's going to be plenty more eye opening head scratching results to come.

Intriguing and enjoyable so far  Thumbup

don't really understand the recent comments ?
until the cars are driven by ourselves then who knows what the crack is ?
every driver drives differently on different tracks ,
and different cars behave differently on different tracks
also there are lots of tyre choices etc etc
that's why i love proxies
so to expect certain results is not always a given
and we are only two events in .... perhaps we are being a bit premature
lets let the break develop before we make any comments
well done Trelawny .... lovely track and some great footage  Thumbup
NOT JUST COS ONE OF MINE MADE THE PODIUM  Wrench

controller will be Truspeed BP 11
track voltage for the event will be set at 10v ( as requested )

i am mad busy at work atm , so cannot specify exact qually and race time/date , but will definitely be over the weekend 24th-27th

Looks great, before anyone asks it was me that requested 10volts for this Round. It is a smallish home track and with Kevin running the Round on his own, it’s most important to try and keep the cars in the slot and not loose to much time on de-slotting.
