'ello!
I seem to have lost the motivation. The main trouble is that I've run out of cars that inspire me to start carving. The two meetings that I used to race at are now allowing silicone tyres and I refuse to race on any track that uses them - they ruin the surface for anything else. This means that I don't even have that reason to make any new cars.
The house is almost done. In a couple of weeks, I'll be getting the materials for the main bathroom (which has no floor right now - fortunately, we have an en-suite in our bedroom

) That's the last major job. A few bits of final fix to do but the house has been so comfortable this winter that, once again, I have lacked the motivation to get on with it. Might be the fact that my 78th birthday is coming up or maybe I'm just getting lazy.
Love the Corvette of course.

Don't quit scratch building cars! Put silicone tires on yours and run 'em! Then you have a reason to see your creations come alive! You can always take the silicone tires off for the times your find a track that doesn't allow them. I'm the only one in my area that builds cars. It sure would be fun if others would, too! That's why I get on these forums... to see what others build. Store bought cars are nice and with a little effort many run great but one you build up from a few bits and pieces is so much fun and fun for others who may live vicariously through your efforts!

I reckon I've done enough! I spend more time reading and listening to music these days. My hatred of silicone tyres goes back to the 1960's when I was racing for Howard Taylor. Someone used them at the Luton 24 hour race and completely spoiled the track for everyone else. It had to be cleaned off so we could carry on racing. Sounds daft perhaps but I just refuse to consider putting them on my cars.
