Goodwood Revival Proxy

I am fine with any mass produced Class A body using a B&W or metal chassis  Thumbup either Revell or Carrera Porsche 904. I never owned a Carrera version , so I am hoping it is not an extra wide version  Bigsmile but according to my rules it would still be legal.

It’s only 47mm wide at its widest point…. I’m here to comply with the regulations not break em.  Thank you.

A71 pride themselves in being the closest to scale you can get, none of their bodyshells are over width.

Hi Graham
I hope you are well, a little confused on your rules sheet as at the top of the yellow sheet you have Event 1 Event 3 and then Event 1 is this a typo or am I really confused!,, !,,,

Thats well spotted Paul, yes the Events should be ordered 1-3 ( left to right), I had shuffled them around abit on earlier Plans. I will correct it later.

That’s very true, while chatting on the design of the 904 body with TA71, I was told it could be done so long as it was a near perfect 1/32 scale representation.

Wavegreen Good Morning,
I have updated the rules on the leading page of the post, there are no additional rule changes but a couple of clarifications, and I have included a few more cars to the list (as its all one document now).

On point which has been raised is the use of Revoslot bodies with 3d chassis, which I will designate as Class B cars as the bodies are definitely not lightweight.
The Revoslot RTR cars with metal chassis are not permitted in this proxy as they are anglewinder configuration.

In general I am very satisfied with this set of rules which I "hope" will give us a very competitive mixture of Class A, B and Class C constructed cars.

The motors have been intentionally restricted in this proxy to those of a similar Torque and rpm, to avoid favorable magnetic traction effects on the plastic tracks and to make for more balanced controlled environment for the hosts. Class A cars are permitted to use the same motors as the Class C/B cars which should give them a fighting chance in the Events.

The chassis have been intentionally used to define each Class Type, metal chassis are permitted but constricted to use with Class A or Resin bodies but not lightweight Class C bodies as defined. I know that for a couple of entrants this change from my previous proxies was disappointing, but my reasoning is that lightweight body shells on rigid metal chassis gives a particular advantage in regards to the models stability on the track and the majority of the entrants are not sufficiently skilled to adopt them themselves. Using Class A body with higher weight model shells, that advantage is less pronounced.

I am inviting entrants to offer their names to the entry list which I will update from time to time.

Wavegreen Good Morning,
I have updated the leading page with the FINAL RULES for the proxy, which will be applied from now on.

Please note that I have changed the entry details as below to enable those who I know were keen to enter more than one Event in the "Goodwood Programme"

Car Entry
Entrants are now able to enter 2 cars for separate events of the 3 for a limited period. This will be initially limited to 20 entry places, and the remaining places will be allocated for single car entries. Should there be a shortfall in entrant numbers the possibility of increased number of two car entries could be extended.
However there is no Team award for two car entries in this Proxy
It is intended that we should have 10 entries for each of the 3 Events in the programme, or 30 cars overall.

I have tried today to simplify the Rules format, but not change the directives of any of the rules.
The Event Awards remain the same.
The car construction awards have been defined as being applied across the 3 Events for each Construction type.
A) Home based RTR based models
B) Cast Resin or fibreglass moulded body models
C) 3d printed chassis/body models
D) Procar RTR based models.

I have attached this version of the Final Rules for consultation. If they get a positive response (or even no response) I will adopt them over the original rules.

To my eyes they read the same, so it should not change anything for any of the current builders. Only the Construction Award aspect has been modified.
