You can still keep it fun but make them less prone to needing marshals help.
Some of the cars you could wring the neck of...others you had to tippy toe through broken glass with your shoes off.

- Bangers Racing Citroen Saxo, what an absolute rocket, so easy to drive, the chassis layout was a big eye opener, SlotIt sHRS2 adjustable AW chassis with FK180 motor (it’s NO WONDER the Metro 6R4 went well also)
- Courtney Sport Porsche 914/6, why is this so far down the pecking order, it’s a belting car!
- Savage GT BMW M1, it’s a big car and was caught out on the stoney bridge but would have been on the podium in our last Slot Rally
Thanks Kev, I built my first Scaley 6R4, with HRS chassis, around 3 years ago. I couldn't believe how much it transformed the car. Not quite up to the Scalauto or NSR supermini's, but certainly, no embarrassment. The Saxo came as a later upgrade and was even better than the 6R4's, on its first run. I used it as my NSSRC Supermini, for a season, until reluctantly getting a "Mr Blobby" NSR Clio. Just couldn't compete with the 62mm wide cars that looked nothing like the real thing!!
Glad you enjoyed my little supermini upgrades!!

When we were packing up on Saturday evening I asked Andy what his favourite car was and he said the same, the silver Saxo.

Thanks Kev,
Good to know I can put cars together that other people can enjoy, as much as me.
Cheers
Chris

Last night we had the busiest Slot Rally night we've ever had in our current location (3 years), with 10 drivers and 40 cars competing it was a fantastic evening.
After last weekends proxy runs I wanted to see how my XK120 Jag would compare with a quicker motor, as I said in my car preview video I now know that it was massively under powered so now has a Shark 25k fitted with everything else the same on the car.
On the same tracks as saturdays proxy the two runs combined last night was 130.97 seconds, with the Pioneer 18k motor on saturday the combined run time was 140.27 seconds, it was still easy to drive but now 'gets there' much sooner.
I was saying to the lads last night that by the time we'd finished on Saturday I was all 'rallied out'. We have Rally every 5 weeks, so 10 times per year, 4 cars each which equates to 40 runs per year. On Saturday we did the equivalent of twice this in 6 hours each!

Just to let the entrants know that the cars should arrive back at HQ today, so I will start posting them back to you on next week.

Really enjoyed entering and hosting
looking forward to the next one
props to Graham for sorting this out for us all
to be fair to both of my pathetic entries , they had zero testing , Goldrock 2 building was only just been completed and the track wasn't built , so when i hosted it was their 1st time at their home track , not an excuse as they simply weren't good enough
hopefully much better entries to come
Kev

They are arrived back & so conveniently did the winners medals, I am racing at the Wolverhampton Classic Early Birds competition this weekend
So they will probably remain in the box until Monday, which is a Bank Holiday, so I will look to get them all ready for sending then.
Therefore earliest posting day will be Tuesday.
OXO Cube, I formidable competitor on the international proxy scene, you should be hanging your head in shame........or perhaps your only good on away matches

...or to paraphrase Lance Armstrong, and this is going to be my new slot mantra: -
"The pain of testing is temporary. Results last forever!"

Kev, I will say your tyres were easily the most impressive of the lot for their condition after all the track time, what make of urethanes were they?
