Autumn Endurance - InterSeries Proxy

So the question is who might be the next "Triple Crown Proxy" title holder ?

Only one way to find out  Wrench we will run another, but this time it will be 2 Series in 2023 and one in 2024.

So we have
Series 1 "Rally cars Slotting" Spring 2023
Series 2 "Touring Cars Slotting" Autumn 2023
Series 3 ...................         Spring 2024

It will be decided by the entrants vote as to what Theme we run in Spring 2024

So many thanks to all the Entrants and hosts who participated in this years Proxy events, I wish you all a Happy Christmas, but don't forget to do a little work on those Rally Proxy cars, I will be asking for your Car registrations by the end of the year  Thumbup

It's certainly been a marathon, more so for Graham, than the rest of us. A big thank you to you Graham and a fantastic act of bravery for planning the next one over the next year or so.
Also, thank you for the stage drivers and marshalls, especially the ones who kept us in the picture with some superb video coverage.

Bring on the first part of the next event in 2023!!!

My Rally entry has had a few hundred test laps today on my little layout, made of Scaley Sport on a door sized board with lap times of about 3.7 seconds.

I found an old NSR Shark 20 and blew the smoke genie out of it  Bigsmile

Life is like a box of Slot cars... Cool Drinkingcheers

The Shark is a good little motor. I ran one of those in my Cobra, in the last event. A lot of useable torque, for its size.

For sure I'll take part in the Touring cars, then I thought to myself why not do the whole Triple Crown ?
I was reading through the rally thread then discovered its already full ... ah well maybe next time.

A big thank you to Graham for his fantastic organising skills and his stewardship of the whole event totally brilliant.

Once you have experienced the cars via hosting your appreciation of the event becomes larger because you understand each car’s character and have a little bit of rooting for them even when they are not your entry.

Some great cars and a lot of learning too.

And would like to point out that our Sponsor Angelo had two victories as the chassis I used on my Ferrari 250 was one of his creation as was the BMW of Savage racing I believe so a bit of an achievement Angelo ?????

Looking forward to getting my cars back and putting them in a club event .
Oh and yes the rally event to prep for too..

Well done to all hosts club or back yard racing or in my case the attic. ( the only room in the house I am allowed to decorate and alter .. with out permission lol ? ) I appreciate the effort which goes into hosting.

Wavegreen Last words........

I continue to enjoy organising these Proxy series and quite happy to continue whilst there is the desire of entrants and hosts to participate. I do intend to make each one different as I think it is part of what makes these proxy's unique and offers less predictable outcomes than the regular types. I continue to try to improve the quality of each one and take on lessons learned. But I will continue with the "Theme" type of Proxy which I have established. I have introduced next year the idea of "Events" to define the various era's car type grouping within the Theme, and the construction based Car Classes, as I think this will add another dimension to which cars eventually are rewarded for their participation. I have shy'd away from penalising entrants cars in the past which unintentionally fall foul of the technical rules, but after a lot of deliberation have started to introduce them but hopefully in an easily understandable and sympathetic way using the proportional % deviation method (dreamed up at the last minute of the current series). Talking I hope both in this regard and in terms of next years Technical Rules structure to keep more or less to the same format.

As the "Triple Crown Proxy" covering the 3 different series seems like a good idea and is an honorable award, I intend to continue to feature it, but obviously we are reducing the number of series from 3 to 2 in a year. So that means it becomes an award over two years. And the next season will be for 2023-2024. So having decided the Themes for 2023 earlier this year, we will need to decide on the 3rd Theme for Spring 2024 next year, which we can do during or after the end of the "Rally Cars Slotting" series next year.

I am grateful for the support I received over the last couple of years, and that we might get going forward. I am delighted that both the "Rally Cars" and "Touring cars" Proxy's are already showing a great deal of support.

Returning Cars from EIS Proxy
As we are all aware of we are now into a period of strikes by the Royal Mail, which will impact on the time taken to get the currents cars returned. So I will start dispatching the cars hopefully this week once they arrive tomorrow. But they will take longer to get back to you, probably not until the new year.

1st February deadline for cars for Rally Cars Proxy
I would advise that the cars should be sent to me as soon as you can in the new year as no doubt the RM strikes are more than likely still running. But we will have to monitor the situation and I am unfortunately prepared to delay the start of the Proxy if the situation prevents cars to be received. We will just have to see.

As someone who never took much interest in proxy racing in the past but is now a convert I would like to express my thanks to:
Graham for encouraging me to host some rounds and his superb organisation of the series I have been involved in.

All the entrants for providing such lovely cars to play with and entrusting me with their creations.

My fellow hosts for their participation and providing very interesting reports of the rounds.

My preparation skills are not in the same league as most of the entrants so I doubt I would ever enter a car but I am more than happy to host some future rounds and look forward to the BTCC series next Autumn. If anybody has a suitable track then I can thoroughly recommend hosting duties and am sure Graham would love to include them in some future event.
