Autumn Endurance - InterSeries Proxy

Class C - Classic Daytona

Courtney Sports Camaro was flying again.
Oaktree Racers car, having had gearing issues last round, didn't get much luck this time either.
It soon developed a stuttering with the symptoms of a bad electrical connection, but a quick look revealed solid soldering to the motor and snugly fitting guide ferrules, so I don't know what was up.
As the car was still running we decided to complete the laps as it was.

Class D - Inter Series

Once Again Courtney Sports 917/10 leaving the rest in its dust, just so fast and so planted.
My Ferrari 512M managed to secure a second, much to my relief, and Ruscillo Racing's GT40 putting in a solid 3rd place time.
Groundhogs GT40 ground to a halt on lap 21. I opened it up as I could see a lose wire at the guide area, but it turns out the wire had been soldered to the braids, meaning the repair would be outside the 3 minute time recommendation for fixing by the time the soldering iron had warmed up, sorry.

It just leaves me to thank Graham for organising the event so well, all the other entrants for allowing me to play with your cars, and all the other hosts for their time and effort.
Also, thank you Brian for helping out with the hosting duties.
It was great fun participating and hosting  Checkeredflag

Now, why have I got an itch about getting a couple of Fly Ferrari GTO's ??  Talking Bigsmile

Wavegreen Good Morning everyone,

Well it was a super end to a great Proxy series, many thanks to the East Coast guys for completing the final Round. And once again we saw a variety of differing results which makes the outcome of the series just that bit unpredictable  Thumbup

Here is the results for the Fastest Single Lap at Roughwood Raceway

I have sent a pm to Savage GT to ask him to email me Podium Photos of the winners for each class & Team for the Championship Positions before I announce the results.

However after consultation with the Scrutineer (myself) I have deducted Penalty points for all the Rules infringements.
Basically having studied again the Scrutineers Report for Each class, I have used a Proportional approach to the allocation of penalties, in other words the greater the deviation the greater was the penalty. This was measured in terms of % deviation and then the final points for each car in each class had points deducted based on the % calculated. Team points were then calculated adding the adjusted individual Car final points results (after penalties deducted) +lights bonus.

These will be shown on the Final Championship Results charts coming shortly.

I will be contacting the Sponsors in regard to the allocation of Vouchers, for this series there will be Vouchers for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Places for each of the 4 Classes.
And Vouchers for Best Team 1st, 2nd & 3rd. Also one voucher for Average Fastest Lap & one for Best Presented Car.

It is intended that the vouchers will be distributed as below.
The George Turner Models voucher will go to the Classic Le Mans winner, and Amato 3d chassis vouchers to the 2nd and 3rd places.
The Pendle Slot Racing vouchers will go to the winners and runners up of the Modern Endurance, Daytona and InterSeries Classes, Best Teams, Fastest Average single lap Car and Best Presented car.

Thank you for looking at my 914/6 that pinion has been off & on so many times it's not surprising it failed, I dont understand why it's had such a tough proxy this time though, all I've done since the last one was put the original motor back in and replace the tyres, it ran really well in previous proxies yet has been an also ran this time.

Full strip down and rebuild before the next one I guess.....shall I stick it in the rally Graham?

You were right Graham! I should have put lights on the Cobra! Still, only 2 points behind the winner is a very good result.  Bigsmile

The Fastest lap average over the 8 Rounds was of course the Porsche 917/10 of Courtney Sport

And finally the Best Presented Car by the Entrants vote goes to the self decorated Ferrari 512M of Savage GT.

I will take a breather and then we will conclude the results for the "Triple Crown Award "

I do try to make each new Proxy different from the previous one and hence in a class there will be new opponent cars etc, so you can't assume because your car did well in a previous one that it will naturally be good in the next one. One or two other  Entrants have tended to made the same mistake, so best to build again for the next event.
Yes the Porsche 914/6 is accepted as your Event 3 car, but you will need to find a companion for the driver and some Rally number decals in order not to upset the scrutineer  Bigsmile

Thank you for those that voted for best presented, and well done Courtney for the fastest lap, awesome work on both your cars.

Of course I have also to thank Colin of C and C designs for getting the decals out to me so quickly for the 512 while maintaining his excellent quality.
And Angelo of Amato Chassis for designing and making the (as usual) excellent BMW V12 LM chassis for me in time, despite being in the middle of a bathroom refit !

I think all the cars entered bought something to the table, and it was a genuine pleasure "driving" them.
And the guys that built their own brass chassis and pods etc, I am in awe.

I eagerly await the rules/cars/classes for Grahams Touring Cars Proxy  Beer

Although I only entered this leg, it will interesting to see the Triple Crown results too.
