The cars are on the Road again Camptrailer this time on the long journey across to Conington Park in the far East of England, hope they get there before the winter snow arrives  Rofl

Wavegreen Good Morning,

Many thanks again to Paul at Mountain View and his co- host Steve Hills (Truspeed Controllers) for their Round on the home Policar track. The last two Rounds are in the East of England at Connington Park & Roughwood and are featured on the forum "show us your tracks" section, both are routed wood tracks one is referred to as being more technical than the other.

Pitlane Review (Round 6)
Modern Endurance 24HRS
This Class ran more or less to form,  the leaders extending their lead. Savage BMW V12 LMP again miles ahead of the field, with Roadrunners Mercedes CLK and Team Tatters AMG keeping their positions.

Classic Le Mans
Mountain View's Ferrari 250GTO had the advantage on its home turf, and again is way ahead of the rest. There is a more closely balanced wrangle developing in the later Rounds between the AC Cobra of Bangers Racing and RoadRunners Aston Martin DBR1. I do believe that after the last minute change in the chassis for the AM, the car seems to have settled down and now looking more competitive against it's rivals, Having said that Paul's comment that the motor is beginning to smell is not good news, and will worry the Team owner (me) somewhat as the motor was new when fitted  Angry

Daytona
Kind of a similar story hear with the BMW 320i again putting in a good round. Green Star Racing's De Tomaso again on the podium in 2nd place, and certainly seemed to have improved on the Policar tracks. Courtney Sport's Camaro a good run in 3rd. Another disappointing run for Ruscillo Racing's BMW M1 on the Policar tracks, perhaps it will run better on the last two wood Rounds, seems to have struggled for grip on the plastic tracks.

InterSeries
The Ferrari 512M of Savage GT having a great time on the Policar tracks with another win, which I think surprised the Team owner and me (after the change of motor), if only it had not been disqualified in the 1st Round it would have been closer at the top. Mountain View's Alfa T33 with the home advantage made 2nd and the Porsche 917/10 of Courtney Sport only making 3rd this Round.

Pitlane Review (Championship)
Modern Endurance 24HRS
The first 3 cars looking well placed for 1st, 2nd and 3rd barring any breakdowns. The BMW V12 of Savage GT looking super strong in all but one of the Rounds so far.

Classic Le Mans
Again the Ferrari 250GTO of Mountain View looking good in all departments for 1st place going into the last 2 Rounds. But there maybe a battle developing for 2nd between the Aston Martin DBR1 of RoadRunners and the AC Cobra of Bangers Racing.

Daytona
Team Tatters BMW 320i now seems the most dominate car after a an earlier battle with Ruscillo Racing's BMW M1 which seems to have lost performance in the recent Rounds.

InterSeries
The Porsche 917/10 of Courtney Sport looking good for the win in this class, but the Ferrari 512M of Savage GT will certainly not be far behind. The Mclaren M6A of Brumos RSR looks unlikely to keep up with the Ferrari but looks comfortable in 3rd.

Team Points
Savage GT as the new kid on the block in our Proxy's looking like an ultra strong Team and unlikely to be caught in the final stages.
RoadRunners and Team Tatters once again receiving the same total points this last Rounds which makes them neck and neck for 2nd and 3rd. Then we have Mountain View and Courtney Sport getting similar points for 4th and 5th.

Right, better late than never, but hopefully the video footage from round 5 at Viking SCC should be on it's way.

Firstly Class A:

Thanks to you and the team for driving and for the videos. Great to see the cars running, and what a nice track...I need to come over to visit.

The Astra has competed in a Nurburgring 24hrs, so was good for Class A. Sadly I failed to realise it would be up against Le Mans prototypes!

I think the squeaky Ferrari is due to the grub screws rubbing on the front axle.

I love puttering with gears

Thanks, and yes you should come for a visit. The Policar track is great to drive on and we've just put together the 2023 calendar which includes lots of club car classes and other classes which make it very accessible for a visitor!.
The Scalextric Astra (specifically that livery) has always been one of the cars I've wanted to own, but never bought. Considering it was on the stock chassis it ran very well and was nice and smooth, only let down by the stiff guide hampering it on the tighter turns.

It wasn't cheap, but it has been a fantastic step up from the 20 year old Sport track.  The club is very lucky to have a few very dedicated members who invest their time and money into improving the club for everyone
