Good Morning
I would like to announce plans to run a Grand Prix proxy in July
The proxy would be run similar to the Road Race format over both plastic and routed wood tracks.
The Technical rules are as attached.
We are hoping to attract enough entrants to fill the event limit of 40 cars (10 cars per class) covering the entire history of Single seater car racing.
Including, Brooklands, Grand Prix, Indy, Formula 1 and even Formula E based models.
The classes are:
Class A pre 1960 Early Flyers (Front engine cars)
Class B 1961-1968 Classics (cars without rear wings)
Class C 1969-1989 Legends (cars with rear wings)
Class D 1990- today Modern era

68mm wide BRM P139 with 14mm tyres on...hmmm, not sure that's realistic.

Hi Kevan,
in order to make this a reasonable realistic event with minimum number of Classes, you have to make compromises. According to the
Classic Slot Car Racing Association rules most of the cars post 1970 -1988 are realistic and specify 14mm Maximum tyre width. Only the type of cars you refer of the 1966-1970 era are specified with a Maximum 12mm tyre width. Similarly most 1970-1988 cars have a maximum overall width of 68mm. Again only the 1966-1970 cars are restricted to 60mm.
These are
Maximum tyre width and overall car width rules, so if you want to be absolutely to scale there is nothing stopping entrants using 12mm tyres and restrict their cars to 60mm overall width for the BRM P139 or similar cars of that short era, should you of course intend to enter one....

It was just an observation.
The cars changed so drastically over the decades, often with eras crossing over each other that it's not possible to cover each era without making compromises.

Exactly my point
My main aim is to run a diverse range of cars as possible based on a theme, there are of course many other types of more specialised international Proxy's which do pick a more technical specialised but limited time period. But there is no point in me replicating something which already exists.

Common Points system for the Triple Crown Series of Proxy Events
I decided that we will use a common system of awarding the points throughout the 3 or 4 Proxy events.
So with each Proxy I will award the points assuming that we have a maximum of 10 entrants cars per class.
So 1st place gains 10 points, 2nd place 9 points etc.
As with the current Proxy we may not get 10 entrant cars per class, which will probably be the case in general, however the same points scoring rule will apply throughout.
If we should not fulfill at least 10 places or 20 cars in any of the Proxy Events up until the fixed Registration date , I will cancel the Proxy based on it not being effectively viable to run based on the costs of inter host posting of the cars.

Good Morning
I am intending to replace last years "Lights On!" Proxy with a more broad based Endurance and Interserie Proxy called "Le Mans Plus"
For those (like me) who maybe not to familiar with the term "Interserie" it was a European open Libre type Class racing series including Can Am, Le Mans or Daytona type GTs. So I thought this would be an interesting Class of cars to include, along with the other 3 Endurance car based classes.
So below I have attached a Provisional Plan of what I am proposing, but still would be open to consider changes based on any feedback I might get.

Fitting of lights would not be mandatory for any of the classes and there will be no demand for night time running stages with hosts running with subdued lighting unless they wish to, but I will give bonus points to the cars fitted with lights to be allocated at the end of the series as part of the Teams combined (2 car) scores as an added incentive. This would only apply to cars entered for the first 3 classes (A,B or C)
The timetable for this proxy would be Starting in October through into November depending on the number of willing hosts.

I will add a list of eligible cars for each class in due course, once the plan is converted in the Final Technical Rules

I saw that but not sure if that means any rubber, urethane or silicone of the same size as originally fitted or only allowing the originals as fitted.
