Pit Lane Review
Goldrock - reported very few issues with the cars during these stages, apart from running problems with Roadrunners Ferrari 412P although the lights were working well 
The  garage engineers tried their best to improve the running but there seems to be an electrical issue which remained throughout the runs. Hopefully it will resolve itself by the time its run at Woodland Fort Slot Club, but on the other hand maybe not 

Le Mans Cars Championship Points Review
Class A - S&P Racing Porsche 911 now way ahead of the field, and looks like they have this class within their grasp. And similarly Mountain View Racings Aston Martin Vantage looking comfortably in 2nd position. However 3rd place is anyone's guess, with MAD Racing Maserati MC12, Wessey Racers Ford GTE, Bangers Racing Ford GT and Roadrunners Mercedes CLK jostling for this position. 
Class B - Team Tatters Audi R8 is now under considerable pressure from Bangers Racing Jaguar XJ9 which seems to be getting stronger and stronger, having overtaken Green Star's Porsche 956.
Class C- Mountain View Racing Ferrari 250 GTO is just keeping ahead of Roadrunners Aston Martin DB1/2 but Stirling Moss is not giving up yet and this one will run to the wire. S&P's Porsche 550 getting bogged down a little due to the lights issue.
Class D - Mountain View Racing Ford GTMKIV now pulling away from their nearest rival Team Tatters, again handicap with the lights coming into play. Roadrunners Ferrari 412P engine problems now putting them out of contention.

Team Points
Mountain View Racing with their very strong field of 3 cars look certain to take the Trophy, but there is still 2 stages to run and as with my Ferrari anything can happen 
For 2nd place with Roadrunners now looking increasing weak with the Ferrari running issue, both S&P Racing and Team Tatters look strong contenders.

We are eagerly awaiting the cars here at Woodland Fort (note there isn't a North in the name)
We have deliberately avoided all the previous results so we will be totally impartial, not sure what evening(s) we will be racing but I'll post the results (and hopefully photos) the following day.

That box has been around the country a few times, but now we are down sizing to 40 cars I will look out for a smaller one for next year 
Then the old computor box will be retired and recycled

Uline double wall boxes work very well for holding proxy cars.  I have one on it’s 3rd serie and another holding heavy Revoslot cars in another proxy.  The unfortunate part is you must purchase them 10 at a time.

That's the problem I found before with the Road race, but we actually had 63 cars, so buying a very large box meant buying 10 or more very large boxes which was very expensive.
But now we are looking at maximum of 40 cars might be easier to find something suitable as a one off. I like the idea of the soft foam insert, but again 40 cars need a lot less space to meet the transport box size limitation

Sorry for the delay but here are the results from Woodland Fort Slot Car Club in Plymouth, Devon
The cars spent an overnight halt at Oaktree Cattery Garage in Cornwall where an inspection of the Roadrunners Ferrari 412 revealed nothing more sinister than a mechanic had filled it with Castrol GTX instead of Castrol R, with no time for a major strip down a gentle run of 10 minutes on 9volts had it freed up nicely and fingers crossed for the next days race.
The decision was made to run this round as a proper race night, our members forgoing their scheduled 1/24 Club Car round to fulfill this commitment, we had 7 drivers turn up so decided that 4 racing, and 3 marshalling would do the trick.

Cars were subject to a 2 minute daylight race followed immediately by a lane change (outer to inner & vice versa) and another 2 minutes in the dark with a new driver, the cars were then replaced, drivers moved one lane to the left and the whole thing was repeated, sounds complicated but it went without a hitch... EXCEPT...

Cars were placed on the grid for the very first race, lights went green & 3 cars roared away, 4th one NOTHING, ready for the restart after checking the lane, controller etc but this car would not run, it was replaced on the grid by the next car in line and racing continued, I then had a quick, body off inspection of the failed car to find BOTH lead wires had come off the guide!!!, easy fix and it ran in the next race.
Our track is very fast and very grippy, too grippy for some of the cars who had to be driven with kid gloves to avoid falling over, this has meant that the results you see are probably different to all previous rounds (I deliberately haven't looked to save any preconceptions)
The Matra was another case entirely, nomatter what I tried this car would NOT go around corners and as a result is right at the bottom of the results, an inspection today seems to point at a VERY light front end, the guide barely sitting in the slot, I have added a little lead at the front hoping to improve it for the next round (I have no track at home to test it).
Anyway... the results...
   
   
As you see the class leading Porsche didn't like the Devon seaside, or perhaps the driver had one too many Rattler the night before in Cornwall

   
   

Now our favourite class, I would be proud to own any one of these but the 250GTO has to be my choice... or perhaps the Porsche 550, or... just give me them all

General consensus at the end of a long hard evening was that it was a lot of fun, please can we be considered for the next one, and I'm sure there will be a few entries from our members.
The cars will soon be on their way back to England   I hope the rest of you get as much enjoyment as we did.
I shall end with a little video of one of the night races, biggest problem we had was having both a yellow and a white lane, the lanes stickers look identical in the subdued lighting

Hmmm, my cars seem to be going from mediocre to just downright poor. Oh well, there was a few compromises building each one which seems to be taking its toll!
