Lights on! Le Mans Cars Championship
#31

Wavegreen Well done, pass on my thanks to your helpers at the club. Glad they enjoyed running the Stage for us.

I will update the scores in regard to points allocation tomorrow

The next host is actually the NERCS club on the 16th &17th (I had revised the schedule), so I will get on with making the arrangement for them to receive the cars.

S&P cars are looking strong!
Thank you so much for moving this along so quickly, and all the time from the club drivers we all appreciate it.

Yes, thank you Gentlemen for the round as well as the report.  Definitely should’ve added more motor to the 33.  Drivability notes are always appreciated both good and bad so we can improve on results down the road.

The P in S&P Racing

We did note a few points where something stood out about a car that we weren't expecting after giving it a quick visual inspection, but this did tail off as the night wore on admittedly. If anybody wants specific feedback about their car feel free to fire away before it fades from memory.

In general a car that does well on this track will have a long guide to rear axle length (90mm+ ideally), oiled, glued and trued rears, loose body and pod where possible, weighs about 90g with a 65/35 rear/front split, zero grip or glazed front wheels that just skim the track but rotate freely.

There's zero magnet attraction on this track so tyres are the most important aspect, it was very noticeable in class A that some cars couldn't get the power down around the carousel, the Ford GTE and Maserati spring to mind as 2 cars that could have been quicker, the 2nd place Vantage didn't have the same punch as either of those cars, but it was all getting to the track.

Wavegreen Good morning,

Here are the

Championship results so far after stage 2

Le Mans Cars Championship Points Review
Class A- S&P racing appear to have the edge with their Porsche 911, can anyone catch them. The Ford GTE of Wessy Racers seemed to have come to life at South Manchester so perhaps they are in the mix.

Class B- Team Tatters seems to had momentum at South Manchester giving them a 1 point lead over Green Star Racing's Porsche 956, but the Audi R8C of Merseyspeed is not far behind and the Jaguar XJ9 of Bangers Racing appears to be moving more freely on the club tracks so maybe the one to watch out for.

Class C- It is a battle at the top with Mountain View's Ferrari 250 GTO and Roadrunners Aston Martin DB1/2, hopefully Stirling Moss has the measure of the Ferrari. But the Porsche 550 of S&P is also in the mix perhaps waiting for it's moment.

Class D - Another good result for Mountain Views Ford MK IV, again Tatters Ford GT MKIV appears to be the quicker of the two, but the "light's penalty" is holding it back from the top spot. The Ferrari 412P is making abit of progress against the Fords but still has yet to find its feet.

Teams Points
So far a very strong start by Mountain View Racing team, but can they maintain this throughout. Team Tatter, S&P Racing, Roadrunners and Green Start Racing can still pose a threat at this early stage of the Championship.

Lets see what the guys in the NERCS club can do next weekend  Sun

Thanks to all the hosts so far in delivering an exciting close event, it does take some time to run all the cars and I appreciate the staying with it. It does take time to write comments for every car, so much appreciated the time taken to give brief descriptions of their findings, but the next host may find that the cars behave differently on their tracks...which is the fun of it all. This race may go down to the wire.

It would take a ton for S&P to fight for the top of the podium without headlights on 2/3 cars….If we do win nobody would see us coming  Bigsmile

The cars have all run at NERCS today, we had some track issues which has resulted in a late finish, so Results will follow tomorrow.

Wavegreen Good morning,

Yes we will have to wait abit longer, I heard form the track coordinator that all the cars completed the stages, but later than expected due to lap timer recording problems, additionally it was reported that poor visibility during the night run was an issue for some cars  Tease

Due to a very important domestic commitment,  the track coordinator will post the results this evening.
