if someone was able to repair my scx chrono  (for a fee of course)
i would be happy to host as well ( as long as its not mid winter .. too cold in garage )
could use my permanent track ( scally sport ) , SCX chrono , and maybe a drag strip or something , but definitely 2 sections

but as Gpa113 says , any coverage will NOT be Andy's standard  Bigsmile

Hello Kev, For timing, use the smart-phone App that Andy has been using. Just need to make something to hold the phone. I forget what it is called but Andy will advise.

Hi Leo
yes had to resort to the app when hosting B2JG after my chrono failed
it worked great , and was easy to setup
wonder if it could be used for a drag strip? to detect the 1st car over the line ?

btw the bridge works a treat m8 , thankyou

tbh was really kinda fishing for an SCX Chrono repair man  Bigsmile
it bugs me when things dont work properly  , must be some kind of OCD  or something , or just me  Rofl

Well, the TR7 and Metro body have arrived safely. Looking forward to the Metro challenge.

A Metro was probably the first Scalextric car I did a decent performance upgrade on. You can make them go quick, but being a short car, they get very twitchy. Also, with good sticky tyres, you have to be careful not to wheelie them out of the slot, at the start of the race!!

Here are some of the ones I have made so far. The original finish car, has an Amato chassis, under it. This was built to use in slot rallies. I fancied the idea of something that looked standard but had surprising performance.

Yo Kev,
Knowing the SCX Chrono units quite well, I am not offering to try!  As discussed, the use of the reed switch to sense the car passing is ultimately a limitation when running cars that don't have traction magnet.

Hi Andy
TR7 and goodies arrived this morning thankyou
great event and coverage
it is obvious to me now that lighter weight , filament printed pod and urethane tyres are not a good idea for rally cars
beware guys , more weight , slot it pod and rubber for the next outing  Thumbup

regarding the Metro's
I'm a little puzzled by your included note regarding '48mm rear track'
the body you sent is 57mm across the rear ?
does this mean the wheels should be about 5mm inboard ?
personally  i like the look of 'classicchrisk' cars , pls clarify
before i design the chassis Bigsmile

looks like phone app is the way to go Leo  Yes

TR arrived home safely this morning.

6R4 body looks good enough to race in my opinion, but maybe not in the opinion of the 'Best in Show' judges...
