Hi Folks, time for our mid week
News Review !
Well it has had been a hectic weekend.
The home team did well, I guess Mountain View Racing have been around those bends quite a few times
But a good mixture of running on both the Worlds End and Steelway Stages, and certainly different for both.
Worlds End Pass
Class A - Mountain View's Honda Civic were an eye's blink ahead of Team Demons, with Roadrunners Mclaren and Kessel Runs Lambo in hot pursuit.
Class B - Another disaster for the Green Merc, well trailing behind the other front runners - hope there is some more hairpin bend on the horizon
But I thought a great run for Team Tilney's Audi, mixing it with the big boys, must get one of those.
Class C -Another Ford GT40 duel at the top from Team Demon & Yellow Devils, but further down the Ford Cortina of Woodland Plymouth was having a great run, probably the best so far, shame it missed the points by one place, certainly deserved one.
Steelway Park
Class A - Mountain View managed another first with the Honda again by a cats whisker (don't mention the cat) ahead of the Ford GT of Team Cube, and probably a cats paw ahead of Roadrunners Mclaren.
Class B- Again the Yellow Devils Calibra sneaked ahead of the Green Merc of Team Demon, great to see them squabbling over first place, probably not noticing that the Ferrari 365 of Minnis Racing was creeping up on them both.
Class C - This time it was the Porsche 914/6 of Woodland Cornwall giving the Ford GT40 of Team Demon a close shave at the top, but also mid field Stirling Moss had found a new lease of life and powered his Mercedes 300SL round the circuit to grab some points. And even more impressive was the Ford Galaxie of miketheslot69, which previously had need a whole army of helpers to push it up the hillclimb around the bends of Worlds End, suddenly found another gear it has not found in any of the earlier stages. Even managing to get a photo podium place. Meanwhile Woodcotes Ford GT40 had gearbox problems and laid sadly at the bottom of the hill, whilst the driver scratched his head in disbelief.
So overall another action packed weekend, the good news is that Woodcotes Ford GT40 has been repaired by the Mountain View Garage and will make it's way (eventually) to join the others for the Goldrock Experience.
Overall then for the first time Team Demon top all the charts, with the Yellow Devils in hot pursuit.
Kessel run have quietly slipped into 2nd position with the Lambo for 2nd position, could still win this class yet.
The green Merc appears to edging ahead of the Calibra, but I think there is still abit to go yet and the battle of the Ford GT40's continues with the remaing field having their own little battles.
So I wish Goldrock good luck for next instalment of the Road Race,
