World Championship Slot Car Proxy 2021
#41

Race #1 is complete and we have a winner!  Congratulations to Heli_ca for winning the first race with his rocket.   Rounding off the podium in 2nd is ZackM and in third is Cgyracer.  Very tight overall laps....this really shows how competitive this series will be plus with the wide variety of tracks it will be a very interesting series.  With only top five finishers from other proxy events allowed to enter there could be a wide group of cars on the podium this season.  Many thanks to Alwyn and Perry in Vancouver British Columbia for running a great event.

Race #2 will be held in Tacoma, Washington at The Professors track.  As F1Fan put it...to win the World Championship Slot Car Proxy you need to perform well at Monza AND Monaco style of tracks.

There is always a certain amount of anticipation when you launch a new proxy series and new rules, not knowing exactly how things will play out and how competitive the field will be. I am delighted to see the competitiveness of the field and I am hopeful that we will see multiple different winners and a close race for the World Championship.

If anyone is thinking about joining us in 2023, then mostly likely the only significant rule change would be that the weight limited of 95g will be removed and it will become unlimited. There will also be a stipulation that all parts/models/motors being used must be released and be available on the open market a minimum of 60 days prior to the date that the cars need to be received by the race organiser.

The World Championship Proxy Race #2 is in the books!  Congratulations to Heli_ca for the 2 points received for Top Qualifying in Tacoma enabling him to maintain the overall lead. Congratulations to the podium Cgyracer, Audi1 and SR Hawaii.   Looking at the updated overall standings, the biggest upward movers were Audi1 up to 4th, DRW21 moving up to a three way tie for 5th, BrumosRSR up to 8th (1 point from 5th!), and Courtney moving up to 11th. The biggest and tightest grouping is in the 5th through 8th positions with four cars within a single point of each other. Very similar to what we are seeing in the GT3 Proxy that is winding down.

Race #3 of the World Slot Car Championship at Dennis Samson's Pebblestone Slot Car Circuit in Irvine California is now complete.  Dennis "Gascarnut" has a beautiful track on his patio in sunny California where every day is beautiful!   Congratulations to the top qualifier SR Hawaii for getting the fastest time.   The race was ran yesterday and recorded on Dennis's channel on Twitch https://www.twitch.tv/samsonclassics

Congratulations to the podium:
1st Cgyracer - Canada
2nd SR Hawaii - Japan
3rd Audi1 - USA

It is really impressive for myself to to see three different countries represented on the podium here after Race #3.   And when you dig a little deeper it's great to see DRW21 from New Zealand finish fourth.....four different countries in the top four!   Another interesting point is the same three cars are on the podium as the previous Race #2.  Results and Pictures below.
