Hmm, was looking forward to a Calibra-less DTM class. May have to re-visit my build for that one

Not actually had any Calibra's confirmed as yet, there are other non slot it options and it is an "open event" for modifications, so technically it should be included.
If it had been a Standard "Slot it only Event", without others included then I would had probably not run them as a proxy.

Wavegreen Good afternoon,
I have been looking at changing to a better way to transport the box of cars for the next Proxy and decided.

Change Courier from DPD to Royal Mail Special delivery, when they are required.
Pros: Box of cars are collected and delivered by the normal postal system, their insurance cost is quite resonable, and there appears to be no higher cost to send the box to the Isle of Man and back (which is a higher cost with DPD).

Cons: It's about twice the cost to send the same parcel than with DPD, I have not used them for our proxy deliveries previously, so lack knowledge about their reliability, handing in general.

Additionally I hope to use fewer deliveries as a result of personal transfers between hosts, and there is a good probability that this arrangement can be worked out with at least 4 of the Rounds

The outer box type used will be the same, but I will look to change the design of the internal boxes, so that in the event of another catastrophic handing by the Carrier then the cars will be contained within the internal boxes in their allocated foam pockets. I am looking at reinforcing the sides of these internal boxes and have a plastic zip up cover for each one. So that the weight of the complete box remains approx the same as now.

I had anyway increased the entry fee for this proxy, and we have a good number of Entrants promised. So unless this changes after the Registration Date, I think we are financially covered for expenses. But we will have to see, and if necessary I will add something onto the return costs at the end of the series.

Graham, thank you for the update!  Understanding the cost to build a proxy box ($150-170USD) for 27 cars, I’m fine with adding a few bucks to help with the cost of a 40 car box.

Many thanks Tony, I wil be ok for now. The existing ones will now need complete replacement. But I would expect to get 2 proxy series out of them when done. I think actually the current box did protect most of the cars quite well, the force of the impact to burst through the outer rigid foam layers would have probably demolished most of the cars into pieces if not for the internal boxes. But I think they could be improved.
