Rally Cars Slotting Proxy 2023 - Car Builds
#31

I think this one will be sorted in time for the proxy.   I’m waiting on interior with a driver and navigator, a little weight and we will see if this car can run as fast as the old Gulf #1 that has been running around and has podiums in 3 proxies and finished 2nd class and 6th over all in the Wye Valley Rally Fall Club gathering. We will see what the #3 brings moving forward.

My 2 are as ready as possible, not having a rally track to test them on means I had a bit of guesswork so not expecting too much from them.
They drive well around my track, so thats the best I can hope for  Rofl

@ Makem just to check, but Isn't the maximum motor allowed 25k @12v ?

Aye, you are right, Gerry didn't read the rules properly.

I've asked Graham to send it back and I will replace the motor

If I had a brain I would be dangerous.

ScaleAuto Tech 3 30k is an unwise choice for a Rally car  Ambulance ...especially one being sent out to a proxy series where some hosts will be using resistor controllers.

If you want your cars to come back in one piece and get great feedback from track hosts you better make them dead easy to drive.

I started with a NSR Shark 25...then downgraded to a Shark 20 which was easier to drive, then tried a Pioneer 18k and it's a pleasure to drive and not really any slower.

Life is like a box of Slot cars... Cool Drinkingcheers

Indeed, After my first entry into proxies (Extreme Slotting) I soon learnt that my car that drove fine on my Truspeed, wasn't so nice on a basic resistor controller.
To that end, I purchased a 35 ohm resistor controller to test proxy builds with.

Thanks Kevan,

To be honest, these rally cars and their tracks are not my field of interest. I just enter to support Graham who is doing a streling job.

Most of my time lately has been spent trying to keep my Club in existence as financial pressures are hitting the place where our track is situated. I really must read the rules right through.

I stopped reading after motor is builders choice, never got to the end. Silly man.

Good job I have plenty of time to sort it.

Regards
Gerry

Complete guess work on my 2 also…. I haven’t had my track up in over a year so both my builds are blind. I took it as a challenge and a hope of paying better attention to small details.
