Summer Grand Prix Proxy
#11

Wavegreen Good evening,

just a couple of updates.

I believe we now have a full 10 stage Grand Prix Competition, just waiting for one host to confirm.
But we should be running 5 routed wood stages & 5 plastic track (3 scalextric sport, Policar and Carrera) stages
We have 2 new hosts with 3 new Circuits to run for us.

I have also amended the rules to include a concession for Resin body moulded entries. As an incentive any entrant for Class A or Class B resin moulded builds, there is now an additional allowance to use Scaleauto 'S'Bell Tech-1 (20k rpm), Slot it Flat 6 (20.5k rpm) or a SRP Slimline Speed 20k rpm.

So if any new entrants fancy entering an "Early Flyer" Class or "Classic" Class with a resin moulded bodies car, they will be welcome to join our Grand Prix Proxy.

Hi ALS,
I am sorry, but the NSR/Scaleauto/Policar Generic bodies are excluded from all classes.

Only, Scalextric, Ninco, SCX, Fly, Penelope Pitlane (Resin moulded) or Betta Classic (fibre moulded are allowed ).

Would injection moulded bodies from the 60's Monogram 1/32 cars be allowed ??............all other tech. specs are met, according to your rules outline.

Cheers

Hi Chris,
yes any 60's plastic moulded body models (Monogram, Airfix etc) would be allowed as long as they meet the technical rules  Sun
I guess this was a oversight on my part, I was not anticipating entries of cars from an earlier slot car period. But in principal why not, and they would be very welcome to participate.

Hello Graham,...thanks for your reply on the eligibility of the "vintage" shells,.......most of my 60's GP cars do use these bodies.

I do have a technical question............in the rules it states that cars using a Scaley/etc. FF050 motor must use a 9T x 24T gear set (vs the standard 9T x 27T) to provide "more controlled braking".........the switch to 9T x 24T, will provide noticeably  less braking.......is this what is meant by "more controlled braking" ??

Cheers
