There were rumors circulating at the club that people were carving out the inside of tires and filling them with (foam) rubber.

It was a 1/24 scale NASCAR series. Front tires must by (coated/sealed) foam rubber so if they were doing it, it must have been the rears. It can't have saved more than 1-2 grams if that... but some people are beyond help..
