Strength is not the real benefit,.....while they are strong, and look neat,..the real benefit is the ability to make very fine adjustments to the pod movement/alignment, using the Nylok nuts without worry that the traditional screws will become loose/fall out. Additionally, there is no fear of stripping the threads in the pod lugs, as the bolts/nuts eliminate the need for these.
Most importantly, the nuts allow me to use silicone/urethane washers above and below the pod lugs to control the torsional flex, where screws only allow washers below the pod lugs.
