It was important to declare that the competition models were made in the US, and that it was a return.
This meant that no additional tariffs were applied.
Hopefully they will get back home ok.
Thank you Graham. When shipping to the UK, I declare toy car for competition to return afterwards to US. So that’s perfect.
The system has changed here, the Customs Declaration codes were set only by item type previously, but now as from September it is also set by "country of origin" to which the US associate Tariff codes, presumably different for each Country depending on whether they are "commercially" friendly or not.
As to what addditional Tariff costs are applied when sending entries to the US is less clear, and only becames transparent when you actually send an item.
I think this is what the small commercial traders are concerned about, as they cannot give an upfront cost to their customers.
