So over the weekend managed to give the 2nd batch of cars a test run.
Savage GT - Opel Calibre this was too fast, actually faster than my test car (fitted with magnets) so I will be checking this one carefully.
Deadheads - Audi A5 was also a very fast car and smooth, should be fun.
Ruscillo Racing - Opel Calibre, nothing between this one and the Audi A5
Savage GT - Ford Mustang, perfectly balanced car for Event 1
RoadRunners - Ford Galaxie, I think it will struggle to keep up with the Mustang, but hopefully the width will help.
ManxBrian - Nissan Skyline, the livery reminds me of one of those real disguise ones the real car companies use to hide the shape of their new cars. I had to look hard at this one to see it was a Skyline.. But quite quick.
Deadheads - Rover SD1, very close the two above.
Red Devils - Alfa GTA, very stable and runs well for Event 2
Manx Geoff - Opel Calibre, deep guide rubbing along the bottom of the slot, so not really a representative run.
Manx Ed - Opel Calibre, a quick car.
Red Dragons- Renault Laguna, something rubbing on the track surface, possibly front of chassis?
BARacer - Alfa 155, nothing between this one the two above it.
Scott Sports - BMW 125i, nice running car well put together
Ruscillo Racing - BMW M3. rear tyres too wide so I will need to speak to them about this.
Team Alaric- Ford Sierra, fairly stable
BARacer- Ford Capri, abit of a handful around the corners.
Groundhogs - Ford Cortina, reasonably stable.
Scott Sports - Ford Sierra, feels a little too heavy for the power of the motor. Front weight was loose on arrival., but has been secured now.
Groundhogs - Ford Capri, same feeling as for the other Capri, abit of a struggle keeping it in the slot on the corners.
I started to scrutineer the cars, we have one with an issue with the minimum body construction standard, one with rear tyres too wide and one with Front wheel/tyres too small, also a couple of cars once again arrived with guides which were deeper than the recommended 7mm. So I will be contacting those entrants to try to get the issues resolved either before or during the series.
