Last words........I continue to enjoy organising these Proxy series and quite happy to continue whilst there is the desire of entrants and hosts to participate. I do intend to make each one different as I think it is part of what makes these proxy's unique and offers less predictable outcomes than the regular types. I continue to try to improve the quality of each one and take on lessons learned. But I will continue with the "Theme" type of Proxy which I have established. I have introduced next year the idea of "Events" to define the various era's car type grouping within the Theme, and the construction based Car Classes, as I think this will add another dimension to which cars eventually are rewarded for their participation. I have shy'd away from penalising entrants cars in the past which unintentionally fall foul of the technical rules, but after a lot of deliberation have started to introduce them but hopefully in an easily understandable and sympathetic way using the proportional % deviation method (dreamed up at the last minute of the current series).
I hope both in this regard and in terms of next years Technical Rules structure to keep more or less to the same format. As the "Triple Crown Proxy" covering the 3 different series seems like a good idea and is an honorable award, I intend to continue to feature it, but obviously we are reducing the number of series from 3 to 2 in a year. So that means it becomes an award over two years. And the next season will be for 2023-2024. So having decided the Themes for 2023 earlier this year, we will need to decide on the 3rd Theme for Spring 2024 next year, which we can do during or after the end of the "Rally Cars Slotting" series next year.
I am grateful for the support I received over the last couple of years, and that we might get going forward. I am delighted that both the "Rally Cars" and "Touring cars" Proxy's are already showing a great deal of support.
Returning Cars from EIS Proxy
As we are all aware of we are now into a period of strikes by the Royal Mail, which will impact on the time taken to get the currents cars returned. So I will start dispatching the cars hopefully this week once they arrive tomorrow. But they will take longer to get back to you, probably not until the new year.
1st February deadline for cars for Rally Cars Proxy
I would advise that the cars should be sent to me as soon as you can in the new year as no doubt the RM strikes are more than likely still running. But we will have to monitor the situation and I am unfortunately prepared to delay the start of the Proxy if the situation prevents cars to be received. We will just have to see.
